oh god where do i start????? sorry but i hated it , travelled all around the world never had 2 weeks of constant diarehaea came home 2 days ago and have only just stoped. all family got it not just me.
food was the same no matter where you went. hotel was a joke ment to be 4 more like 2 there was 4 of us but we only got 2 cups and 1 plate 4 bowls you get the picture? it took almost 45 mins to boil water on the stove and then we gave up.

the swimming pool was freezing.
nothing for kids to do at my hotel as they changed the night time entertement to 10pm it was on at 7pm so it was to late for ds&dd (2yrs & 10months) to stay up for

did look like saga had taken over !!!!
what else is there to say .......

take yr own
tea
coffee
marvel/coffee mate u can not buy it anywhere

baby nappies ok you can get pampers from chemist.
take some baby food /dryed as the food choice was to say the least rubbish.
insect replent and use it!!!!!

find the kids clubs in your neighbouring hotel no one checks and you might have a better time

would we go back ????

in a word no
funny thing is evryone whos asked us how was our holiday we say rubbish we get told " yeah i hated tunisia to etc" just wished we booked some where else

sorry dont think this is what you wanted to here???

i've been twice , once way back in 1995 and again in 2003. both times to hammamet but the second time travelling all over and way down into the desert for a few days. I must say, in the 90's it was beautiful, few hotels, no tacky stuff on beaches, 'untouched'. in 2003 there was a lot more plastic chairs on the beach, crazy golf etc. all the nightlife centres around the hotels but you are more than welcome to go into any hotel you like for their entertainment. the bell..something i can't quite remeber the name has a nightclub under the swimming pool with a glass wall through to the water. hotel entertainment in the evening was cheezy, snake charmers etc... very cclean beaches, lovely roof top coffee shop in old town of hammamet. i found the locals charming, obviously if you go into the market there's haggling but thats to be expected, if you don't like that sort of thing then go into the fixed price shops. As a young woman can get a bit 'harrassed' but not in a nasty way by the young local lads. As a family i expect you would be well respected, the culture of the country is very 'family'. i went before i had my son so i have no experience of having a young child there but i would be perfectly happy to go again. most hotels serve a buffet dinner with mixed cuisine, western /local etc (tunisians are very into fish) so as with all foreign holidays you may want to consider avoiding pre-peeled fruit etc if you have a sensitive stomach. i have not known anybody who suffered stomach problems on holiday there. ...don't remember a particular problem with biting insects either..and they usually love me! but mayb it depends on the time of year you go, i travelled in february and in november.

ok i have been and i .........................loved it.Yes i had an upset stomach which required having anti biotics. The people are all very friendly and could not do enough to help us in any way.the hotel we stayed in was great, although a bit over run with french people, resulting in lots of the entertainment being in french. The food was yummy, the sun shone and we all had a wonderful time. did not enjoy the shopping experience .Made friends with a tunisian lady who took her into her village and home to sample "real tunisian "life.
