We are doing a long drive from North to South over Easter weekend and thought we'd break it up with a visit to one of these places near the motorway kind of close to the halfway point.

Probably drive, stop for five hours, visit the attraction and have dinner then drive the rest of the way while the kids sleep.

I don't know anybody in the midlands to ask about these museum places. Either better for my DC's ages? Are they any good? Or... Anywhere else you'd recommend along the M6 around Birmingham ish? Will they be packed on Saturday?

Thank you!

Black Country museum - lots of outdoor space for then to run round and let off steam, and though it gets busy the site is so big it never feels overcrowded imo.
If you look online, there always seems to be a BOGOF on tickets

Or, if you just wanted somewhere for the children to play, get some fresh air, then leave the M5 at J7 Worcester and go to the country park which is free and has a really good playground, lots of grass, walk in the woods, and a v nice cafe. The Swan pub which is virtually on the motorway junction would be nice for dinner and has play equipment

Thanks very much! :)

Great advice too about the park in case it's a lovely day CMOT.

Dudley zoo is another option just off junction 2 of the M5.
