Thinking of going tomorrow but would like to avoid taking the car. Does anyone know how fair it is from BIrmingham New Street to the Sea Life Centre? I cannot find the information ANYWHERE on the net!
TIA

It's about a 15 minute walk if you come out of the exit at the B end of the platform. Cross the road at the crossing, go straight on up the hill and you end up in Victoria Square. Turn left and go through Paradise Forum (next to the library). Cross Centenary Square and go through the Convention Centre. Cross the bridge over the canal, turn right and follow the signs.

Thanks WigWamBam. 15 minutes doesn't seem too bad, although we will have a 2 yo with us!
I am assuming that it is a very bad idea to try to drive and park in the middle of Birmingham on a SAturday?

Depends on what time you get there - if you're early then it's not too bad. Sea-Life doesn't open until 10am though and it would probably be getting pretty busy by then!

If you take the car there's parking around the NIA, but you might be best trying to park in the multi-storey behind the Rep theatre, on Brindley Place. It's only a few minutes walk from there.

Thinking about the trains for a minute though - where are you coming from? They have been replacing a lot of the trains with buses on Saturdays this month, it would be worth you checking that your trains are actually running over the weekend.

Walk from New st is pretty easy as it is mostly pedestrianised; the mailbox car park is quite close too if you decide to go by car.

We're coming from Gloucester but think have decided against the train. I cannot believe that it will cost dh and I £54 return to go on a 1 hour train journet. We will probably leave around 10ish so hopefully the traffic won't be too bad.
I can't find a website- is it well signposted/ easy to find by car?

You'd think that I'd have been to B'ham before as we're only 50 miles away but no!

I'm sure it is well signposted, but it's very close to the Repertory Theatre, Symphony Hall and NIA. It'll be quite nice wandering around there -my kids used to love jumping into the fountain walkways in Brindley Place. Have a good day!

Good heavens, that's expensive - it's less than an hour by train! It's well signposted, the multimap page for it is here .

Their website is a worldwide one. It seems to list all of the sea-life centres but the maps are tiny - link{http://www.sealifeeurope.com/sea_life_centres_uk.html#centre-birmingham\here} if your eyesight is better than mine!
