My DD & her BF are going with us to Haven

How much is there for them to do?

How much will they be able to do by themselves?

Are there Kids Clubs etc (I know I should have checked before I booked but I'm a bit dippy)

Please help!!!!

They'll love it probably.

How mature are they? there's a kids club 7-9 which they may be slightly too old for but there's another (at least there was at Caister) for older children.. there's beach, arcade, swimming pool.

If you trust them to go off on there own for a while they'll be plenty to entertain them

Which one are you going to?

It was my first Haven experience.

Yake your own bed linen - luckily friend told me this in advance..

Katymac, I know you said you used tesco points can I ask you do you have to pay the full brochure price at Haven when using tesco deals or can you get their special offer prices aswell?

Katymac · 17/08/2006 13:53

Seb you pay the full brochure price - but it's worth it

I have just phoned them and they said you can't leave the children and that they can't wander arround on their own

We are going to burnham on sea

My Tescos CC is about 1200-1500 a month (remember I run a business) & I get about £50 a quarter

We took my dd for her 4th birthday at the beginning of August, so she wouldn't be lonely we took my 7 year old niece.

We went to the Haven at Marton Mere near Blackpool, and tbh there wasn't a great deal to do, we ended up driving into Blackpool.

The weather wasn't great...which goes a long way

If you live near a Butlins I'd say there is more to do there, and no restrictions on usage of the swimming pool, we weren't happy that the pool was closed to the Haven guests in favour of the caravan owners for quite a while every day.
.
Best way of getting a taster at Haven is to collect the vouchers for the next 9.50 Sun holiday offer. You can always upgrade to a better grade caravan with Haven.

Also Ebay is worth a check, sometimes people sell their holidays from the Sun.\

Good Luck

Katymac · 17/08/2006 19:05

That sounds a bit worriying

Oh well too late to panic now

Any more hints & Tips for the holiday

Not sure on how much luggage space you have but we did take a french boules set {which saw my husband and my dad having serious competitions!}

The usual kids stuff...crayons,drawing pads, and of course a football

I just looked in my Haven brochure and Burnham looks so much bigger than Marton Mere.

Stop worrying...you'll have a great time, and kids always seem to enjoy these holidays.

sanchpanch · 17/08/2006 22:30

i would say it is not worth using the tesco vouchers for the haven hols, it is cheaper to book online
i collected £155.00 worth of vouchers to take me and 2 dd's away for a weekend, looked on the haven website and the price was £179.00 i thought great i only nead to add £20.00 or so, but when i phone to book, was told the online one was a special price and the same holiday they offered me was £319.00, so i still had £160.00 to pay, so i may as well have booked it online and saved my vouchers for something else, so i have had to book my weekend away for the end of september to get the price down to what i originaly wanted,
but whenb i looked on the website the weekend i have booked was only £100.00, and mine was £179.00, and to top it off i could have collected the tokens in the express last week and gone to the same haven in Poole onthe same weekend for £50.00, so i know what i will do next year!!!!

hope this makes sense!!!!

Katymac · 18/08/2006 07:32

Well I am going for £64 - for a week mid august

I'm not sure I could have done that cheaper as it was approx £660 without the vouchers and even taking the vouchers at face value is a week away in august for £216....which is quite good

May be it depends when you go?
