Hi I was wanting to take my ds who is 18 month old to a farm tomorrow, I was thinking about Farmer Ted's but I was just wondering where else is good to go and where will be most suitable for his age??

Hi Janbo, (new on here so may not know me!!) but we went to the Ice Cream Farm near Beeston a few weeks ago which was really good. Ive got an 18mnth old little girl and she loved it. Its only small but theres little rabbits there, some pigs, donkeys, goats and there's a little indoor play area which kept Ellie amused for ages!!. Plus you can get a gorgeous ice cream while your there. Hope this helps xx Ann xx

I've not been to Stockley but when we went to Smithills on a school trip everyone said it was better than Stockley. I'd def take mine there.

VoLuataire · 08/08/2006 21:54

Tatton Park also has a nice (albeit small) farm.
It might be enough for a 18 month old though.
It also has a nice park with toys and good ice cream!

MerlinsBeard · 08/08/2006 21:55

depends where u r really and how far u wabt to travel. i've never heard of smithhils or farmer teds so would prob take my boys to stockley or reddish farm

Janbo if the weather is nice go to Dovestone and walk up to the stream with a picnic. We were poddling there for three hours on Monday! You can feed the ducks too.
On Friday we spent the whole morning at the canal in Diggle but I think the assault course there might be a bit too old for your ds. Remember it for the future tho.

biglips · 08/08/2006 23:34

ooh you better get to Gullivers World in Warrington pronto as its closing down due to lack of business so ive heard but defo closing down - aaww its a shame as its a fab place to take the little ones.

biglips · 08/08/2006 23:52

Walton Hall & Gardens in warrington. There is a Childrens Zoo and its free

mrsvern · 09/08/2006 11:49

Cannon Hall is good. But quite a trek from Oldham (it's near Barnsley)

Cappucino · 09/08/2006 11:50

Docker Park Carnforth if you're north lancs/ south cumbria

nikkie · 09/08/2006 18:40

Duckys Park farm at Flookborough (South Cumbria)
Sizergh barn for farm produce (near Kendal)
Another recommendation for Docker park farm!

Nixz · 09/08/2006 19:45

Windmill farm in burscough has a great play area, an indoor play area, a train ride and a lovely little cafe. Cedar farm in Mawdsley has a small animal farm (goats/chickens rabbits) and some crafty things to do aswell as a small play area and the most gorgeous cafe mmmmmmm!
Have fun!

Janbo25 · 09/08/2006 21:32

does docker park have a website?
