How much for food on ferry?

Ds is going skiing with school at half term, just trying to work out how much spending money to give him for the outward journey. They will be on the ferry for their evening meal. How much do meals cost on board?

Any recommendations?

Any advice gratefully received

A "proper" meal - main course and drink (think motorway quality) - could be a tenner or more.

Yes, motorway quality. Motorway prices!

Ds also going skiing at half term. Will not be giving him money for food en route. Will be supplying him with 24h-worth of food in his daysack - sandwiched, snacks, fruit, a couple of water bottles etc. anything more than he wants to buy will have to come out of his week's spending money.

Not just because of the expense, but because if left to buy whatever he wants, will probably end up with a load of grease, sugar, fizzy pop...and puke.

He will, of course need to buy food on the return trip, so can use the outbound trip to recce and work out for himself how much cash to keep back.

I would say about 10 for a meal and a drink.

Thanks everyone, we do have to provide some food for the journey but knowing ds most that will be eaten before Dover!! We live in the north of England so he has a long journey to Austria.
