We're planning to travel with 16 mth old and 4 yr old. Worried slightly about hills and want to be central. Possibly by the central square/or swimming pool but dont want to be in a villa that smells of greasy cafe or chlorine or that's noisy. Anyone been who can advise on such things?? Thanks. I know centerparcs had been done do death on mumsnet but hope someone can answer this specifically. Thankyou. can you only prebook activities with an executive villa? what about comfort plus?

First of all, all the villas that we have stayed in have been in 'pine' which is on the level, up by the pool and restaurants.

Secondly, You can pre-book two weeks before arrival in a comfort villa as opposed to 4 weeks before in an executive.

We stayed in our first comfort villa after 5 executives this summer and the only downside was the smell of damp.

Don't book comfort villa 200 as it reeks.[grin[ But good for a cheapy break.

comfort villa 238 reeks of damp too! but only 5 mins walk to pool plaza which is very handy, you'd never know how close you were to it though as it was lovely and quiet everywhere!

I'd find 2 weeks prebooking fine (you normally get your prebooking package about 3 weeks early anyway).

thanks you two, that's exactly the type of info I was after. damp doesnt sound too good. Still I think Ive just got to book otherwise this will never happen

No problem!

You will have a fantastic time anyway, there is so much to do. We didnt book anything and were still busy for the 5 days anyway, in the pool every day or by the lake beach, play areas etc.

Your 4 year old may like the ceramic cafe on a rainy day, DD (nearly 4) painted a lovely bowl, they give you loads of advice and good ideas there, you just book when you get there or go off peak and just walk in.

My BILs family pre-booked the tinies tumble time for their 18 month old which she really enjoyed.

Depending on what time of year you are going and how desperate you are to do certain activities there really is not much need to prebook as long as you go to the booking point on the first day and gte your slots for the rest of the week, you save the boooking fee that way.

Ash 809 to 813 . They are executive villas they are good . right near the pool and no smells or damp .

thechildsslave · 04/08/2006 11:13

How sad am I that I took a photo of the villa number so I wouldnt forget . We are going in Sept again .

foxinsocks · 04/08/2006 11:20

if you have a time in mind, you can book online and then it gives you an option to select a villa number - you can tell me what your options are and I'll look them up if you like

no, it was our first time last month. I've always thought it was overpriced as I've never been, but now I can see what the fuss is all about. It is SO nice to have things to do but not have to use the car all the time - totally worth it!
