European holiday villa recomendations

Just starting to think about possibilities for next Summer. We will be going away around mid July - DD will break up around the 13/14 I think.

May be considering going away with PILs and BIL/SIL - so there would be 3 couples, a 5yo and a 1yo. So would need 4 bedrooms and either 2/3 bathrooms. Want a private pool. We will be getting car hire from the airport, but want somewhere not too big a drive. DH, BIL and FIL fancy a game of golf or two, so needs to be within driving distance of that.

So far we have considered Portugal, Spain, Italy or South of France, but open to other ideas.

Anyone know of any nice villas, not costing the earth ideally (less than £3k please), somewhere nice?

Thank you!

there were 19 of us - we booked the cottage attached too, so technically could have slept 27 - but still only cost £3k total. however it is a wee bit shabby, but we adored it.

It looks beautiful! Did you have tea parties on the lawn, with those lovely wrought iron tables? And gather vegetables fresh from the gardens in the basket?

Do you always holiday en masse or was it a special holiday?

Nosy posy here

The chateau looks fab. We'd have to invite more people to justify it though!

no - have usually holidayed with one other family - but this time did it with 4. I was nervous actually - but with all that space it worked really well - didn't get under each other's feet at all. and yes - we ate tons of fruit and veg from the garden - the kids picked berries every day. the wrought iron garden furniture was rather small for 19! we had to take the kitchen table outside every night for dinner. has to be said it might not be to everyone's taste. it was full of the owner's stuff - musty books and dusty magazines but tonnes of toys too. peeling paint, not a lot of furniture. but I adored it

Thanks all. Hoping to book som, ething at start of September - for next July/August. We are now settled on the south of France, in Cote D'Azur region. Have found some nice villas around the £2500-£3000 mark for the two weeks.
