We have just bought a thule bike rack (rear mounted) and a light board

The light board is still wrapped up and has a plug thing

We have a vauxhall astra ... where does the plug thing get plugged into?

Don't you need a tow bar for the plug bit ? We've not got one so we just got a board with the number plate on and dh lashes it to the bikes with rope !

You're right Twiglett - I have absolutely no idea, but someone must have used a light board before to help you out. Would be interested to know myself for future ref.

Don't you need a light board when carrying cycles at the back .. with brake and indicator lights on it?

We don't have a tow bar ... does that mean we don't use a light board?

We travelled in daylight hours - and bikes didn't obscure car's own lights so apparently it was OK ! (dh says anyway !)

He says you do need a towbar to plug a light board into !

Can't you get a wiring kit is also available to enable connection to your vehicles electric's if you have no towbar power point - I believe some makes come with this alternative option.

Whoops - that was meant to say:

Can't you get a wiring kit to enable connection ... etc.

Hope it makes sense now.
