ESTA visa waiver question

MrsKitty · 19/01/2014 21:03

Potentially stupid and obvious question, but a seed of doubt has been sown so I need to check that I'm right! (Too much small print on the ESTA website for me to deal with right now!)

We got our ESTAs last March and travelled to the USA. We've recently decided to go again this year...can we use the same ESTA as last year or do you need a new one for each trip?

Thanks

AFAIK they last a year so as long as you're going before march you'll be ok

MissMilbanke · 19/01/2014 21:04

Thought it was 24 months ?

titchy · 19/01/2014 21:06

They're valid for 12 months.

Valid for up to two years from authorisation or to the expiry of your passport, whichever comes sooner.

Ah yes it is 24 months! I stand corrected!

MrsKitty · 19/01/2014 22:33

That's great, thank you.

ESTAs are valid for 2 years from date of issue or to passport expiry whichever is sooner. All you need to do this time around is update your current ESTA to reflect your new flight and accommodation details. There is a specific part of there which states update.

If you still have the 16 letter and digit combination ESTA reference from last time you can input that, otherwise you will need to put in your name, date of birth and passport number.
