Flamingo Land or Lightwater Valley?

Dss (7 and 9) want to go to a "theme park" this summer, we have Tescos vouchers, and thought we'd do a daytrip whilst staying at my parents.

I haven't been to either Flamingo Land or Lightwater Valley for at least 20 years, and back then LV was basically a pig farm with a slide, a duckpond, and a little train!

So which is best? (We don't particularly like long queues. I love big rollercoasters, but the kids are not keen.)

You can get a three-for-two voucher at GoSummer if that's any use to anyone.

We had a good time at Flamingo Land - there were a few things I wasn't terribly happy about, but it is big and there's loads of choice of things to do.
I got to go on three big rollercoasters, so I was very happy and the boys were ecstatic with the sealion show.

what ages would you say it is suitable from?

roisin · 07/08/2006 09:15

Janbo23 - there is loads for littlies - the zoo animals, sealion show, little rides etc. I think U5s are free. It's great for younger children who have older siblings (or parents) who want to go on the big rides.

But personally I wouldn't pay full price to take 5-8 yr-olds "for their sake", as it's quite expensive and there are other places better suited to those ages. But you can get good deals (we used Tesco vouchers), which negates the cost argument.
