Car seat escape

I was wondering if anyone has got a solution to my latest problem with my 2 year old daughter. She has discovered how to press the red button on her car seat and release the straps and is bouncing around in the back of the car daily. I have had a look at other car seats and they are all pretty much the same so don't know what to do. I have tried scaring her into not touching it but all has failed thus far. Is she likely to grow bored of this new game?, I think not - it's far too much fun. Any ideas anyone?, Obviously this is a dangerous situation and I am very worried about it.

Ok realllllllly mean mummy alert. scare her, that is what I did with dd2 I waited until our quiet road was empty pulled out in the road and then did an emergancy stop, which knocked her against the front seat, she doesn't touch the button now. It is tough love but it is better imo than going through the windscreen in a crash

Wow, thanks RubyRioja, I will try letting her play with the seat at home, it's definitely worth a go - why didn't I think of that!!!! Chocolate buttons might be a good idea too ..... any more ideas anyone?????

Thanks too Xena, I will bear your advice in mind and it could well end up being my only option - think I will try bribery first though!

I do believe if they want to escape they will, a bit like the squirrel always gets the nuts.

Mine is Houdini reincarnated I swear - she was unpicking locks when she was one.

Now, where are those chocolate buttons - I was sure I had some round here somewhere ....

ok i dont think its the answer but my 4 year old charge (AND her 6 year old brother) cant undo the clicker on my britax Renaissance....

even though the seat is now 5 years old and has been used every day of its life!

Personally i think the answer is a VERY firm telling off.... show her that you are completely seriouse, and combine with rewards and praise for staying in her seat.

agree with nannyl, a firm telling off and what i used to do is stop the car , turn off engine and say "right, we're not going now until you get back in your seat"
