Disney! Villa or moderate hotel?

Can't decide! Travelling alone with dcs
The hotels look pretty shit mostly
Can't afford Disney hotel

Any recommendations?

Villa every time! They have plenty of space, are usually very well equipped - TVs microwaves washer dryers etc. Most have great pools as well. Much cheaper and you can self cater - particularly good when you wake at 5am due to the time difference! we even stayed on one where I did an on line shop and they stocked the fridge for us on arrival

disney resorts are way over priced and you pay for the name

Going by the ages of your children, I would choose a hotel either onsite or with shuttle buses. That way your eldest can do their own thing without having to rely on you driving ie hang out at parks later etc.

I personally find hotels more relaxing. The kids make friends at the pool/ head to the arcade etc while I enjoy a cocktail brought to me while relaxing by the pool. Whilst not worrying about what to make for tea.

Have never cooked a meal in a villa

Though I think my husbands got plans in that direction this year

How about a condo? A lot cheaper than villas and still give you the kitchen, space etc and the benefits of a hotel for playmates in the pool for the kids. Motel rooms start at £19/night - the possibilities are endless!

Am looking at Florida now too. I second the condo/apartment option. Better than a hotel, especially given the ages of your dcs but cheaper than a villa.

Also has the advantage of pools and clubhouses so the dcs can make friends and socialise a little away from each other but in a safe environment.
