Looking into booking for January/February 2015 with DD who will have just turned 3. Any advice or tips. I've been looking at the Hotel Cheyenne, it seems really good value for money at the minute and it's really just somewhere to put our heads and sleep. Also, can you rent buggies there? DD isn't 2 yet and hardly goes in her buggy now but I think it would be a lot of walking for her and would like a back up option. TIA

We went with our almost 4 year old last September and we managed without a buggy but in saying that she did end up on dad's shoulders much of the time. We were going to rent a buggy there but it's 15 euros a day which we thought was a bit steep. Unless you are really stretched for space I'd recommend taking a buggy. We ended up spending really long days in the parks and doing a LOT of walking. It's amazing though - we had such a great time we came home and re-booked for the spring.

I took my 4 year old and 18 month old last February.

It was so cold and actually snowed in the night. We needed a buggy for my little one. But beware, lots of stories about buggies going missing, when you park them for the rides. So take a cheap one. Ours was ok though.

Food is expensive and as it was cold spent I lot of time indoors.

Children loved it though. Lots to do for them, they were a bit freaked out by seeing the characters.

Stayed in the Santa Fe. Really liked it, some bits were tatty but it was comfy. Go when it's not holidays though, got busier when the holidays were on. Until then the queues were very short.

I'd def go back again.

I would also recommend taking a buggy. Yes you can hire one, but the queues for hire are massive.

You can buy sandwiches from the shop in station outside which is cheaper, but your not supposed to picnic inside. There are water fountains so take water bottles.

Book at least 1 lunch/dinner with a character meet and greet - saves on queuing and you get fed and get all your photos in (I left it too late to book this). I also took DD to the Wild West Show for dinner and it was really entertaining.

We stayed here. Direct bus from the park to the hotel.

We are going on the train so not sure if we will have space for a buggy, guess we will have to wait till nearer the time and see how Dd is getting on with walking. thanks for the advice, think I'm going to upgrade to the half board meal plan before we go. We are definitely staying in the park though, it's only disney we are going to and would rather experience staying there. Anyone stayed in the Hotel Cheyene? I'm going to keep am eye out for thermals going on sale in the Spring/Summer and snap them up Grin Grin

I can't help with advice about buggy hire but we have stayed in that hotel and it was fine. Nothing special but comfortable. Think Travel Lodge rather than the Hilton. Even though the hotel is on site it is still quite a walk to the park entrance though, through Disney village etc so I would guess that you will need a buggy.

Not stayed in the Cheyenne so can't comment on that. Definitely either take a buggy or rent one, the distances you cover during a day in the park are huge, you will see 6 and 7 year olds in the rental buggies. The rental place is under the Railway arches as you go in the park, it's over £10 a day to rent one. I've heard of rental buggies being taken from outside rides but if you hang onto your receipt you can go back for a replacement. Or take a bicycle lock! We took our buggie on the train, there was enough room and lots of people do it. You can eat reasonably cheaply in the Disney Village, The Earl of Sandwich, Macdonalds, Starbucks and New York Sandwich place. You can use the half board meal plan at Cafe Mickeys for a character dinner, book early then take your time over the meal and you will see 5 characters go round meeting everyone twice, we went at 6:00/6:30. Go to DLRPmagic.com for lots more info. Have fun!

I went with my 2 1/2yr old niece in May. We took the buggy just in case she was tired but it was a godsend to carry bottles of water/wet weather gear/dolls my niece decided were "heavy" etc.
