Hi
I am going to Disneyland paris for the first time ever next week with hubby and DD who is 4. We are all really excited and cant wait. How much spending money should I take? We are staying in hotel new York and have breakfast and that's it. For lunch we will prob just grab a sandwich or mcdonalds and during our stay with probably have one character breakfast and one more expensive sit down dinner, with one rainforest café too? what are peoples thoughts? obviously need to buy some souviners too im seriously panicking lol x

A lot of people on places like tripadvisor seem to say to take things from breakfast but as I said, I always worry about getting sick, or it not being stored right so would rather just buy a burger or a sandwich, we are on holiday after all!!! lol Im going to bring some snacks from home as my dd is extremely fussy, and due to her autism really funny about eating things she doesn't recognise, so going to bring her favourite cookies, and biscuits/crisps and fruit shoots as don't want to have to go hunting for stuff as soon as we get there, though will probably buy loads of snacks too, as im constantly hungry at the minute haha. Thanks for all your help and suggestions :)

I've never taken stuff at breakfast either ,or seen people do it .there are plenty of places to stop for a muffin or a brownie .

I think £800 to £1000 would be enough. When we went we had breakfast included so instead of booking a character breakfast we had the character lunch and a smaller dinner that evening. Hope you have a lovely trip.

Hi everyone :) had a great holiday. dd really loved it. We stayed in the hotel new York and it was brilliant. We loved the hotel, the breakfast was a lot better then I expected and dd loved that she met a character every morning before breakfast. We didn't actually think our room or the hotel was run down, (maybe we were just lucky) and thought the location was brilliant for the Disney village.
We booked the princess lunch before we went and couldn't recommend it enough to anyone. There were three princesses, ariel, Cinderella and snow white and they all came to the table and spoke and posed for photos. And they all danced with dd too, the look on her face was brilliant, the food was lovely too and made a change from the burger and chips which is mostly what u get in Disney. The queues for the rides were about 1hr long each but we had a pass as our dd is disabled and this was brilliant. longest we queued was 10 minutes.

The shows were fantastic and the Disney dreams were breath taking. Along with the parades which were lovely and the Christmas tree lighting too. Was so Christmassy and magical. The food was generally over priced and burger and chips but what u would pay in Thorpe park and those type of places, the McDonald's seemed to have quite a restricted menu with no fish fingers or anything like that. Had a dinner in rainforest cafe which was great and in cafe mickey too. Service was terrible and food wasn't great and overpriced but worth the money as dd got to meet mickey, minnie, goofy and Pluto and get photos too. Dd actually fell off her chair in shock when she saw minnie. We bought quite a few souvenirs and went for 3 dinners out and had mcdonalds or that type of food for lunch and spent about £800 which was great as budgeted for more and came home with some money which never usually happens. I can't recommend disney enough at Xmas, we want to go back next year!! Haha. On another note getting home took 14 hours due to weather and almost got stranded at Waterloo. Got home at 3 in the morning instead of 9.30! And was Xmas Eve next day, but at least we got home :D honestly if u can go at Xmas was truly magical :D xxx

Glad to hear you enjoyed it , I think I notice the hotel looking a bit shabby because we've been going since it was brand new - still love it though . Me and my DH will still be visiting long after our DCs have given up coming with us ( 1 already has) . Christmas is the best time of year to go IMO ,and I've done all the seasons and events .
