Same place or somewhere different?

thinking about holidays next year. Trying to decide whether to go to the same place as this year or somewhere totally different.

DCs and I had an awesome holiday this year. It was just a caravan holiday a couple of hours from home but it went really well.

Ds(6) has ASD and some as yet undiagnosed mobility issues. I'm a single parent. There is so much in that mix that can go wrong.

I'm trying to balance my itching urge to travel and show DD(7) a little more of the world and the need for us just to have fun together as a little family.

looking for mumsnet wisdom on this. if you went to the same place often growing up did you regret it or was it a good thing.

I'm a single parent but don't gave to deal with mobility issues. We gave done a mix - gone back to the same place once but gone to different places - after extensively searching trip advisor !! Where are you thinking of going? Places like centre parts are expensive but totally geared up fir families in all shapes and sizes! We went at Easter and loved it! We have been abroad for years - first time was daunting as a LP but so much easier as you don't have to factor in the weather!!

I have a rule of not going to the same place twice - life's too short and the world too big

Rainout inflames, I used to have that rule too until I became a single parent! Sometimes it us easier and far more relaxing to go back to somewhere you know and where you know you and your dc will be ok. It's got a lot to do with confidence and what you actually want from a holiday. Now my dc are older I really appreciate just lying on a sun lounger reading a book while they play in the pool (both better swimmers than me!) but a few years ago I would have thought that was boring and a waste of a holiday. Now just getting the 'me' time to read a book us such a luxury I look forward to it so much! My dc will do some sightseeing but not much willingly but I know holidays change so much over the years I just try to appreciate what I have right now! Dd spent her toddler years in the foot wash pool on several holidays and I was the mug who had to supervise her as exh lay by the pool or played in the kids pool with ds!
