We need somewhere for when we get off the ferry - so not more than half an hour or so away. We're en route to Pont Aven. Any suggestions?

My sis has been there willow2. And she is a fussy stylish foodie journaliste. She loved it.

We just want somewhere clean and comfortable to stay the night - will have three tired kids on our hands so not sure that we'd make much use of the restaurant though! Would rather avoid Ibis or similar, seems like you're paying through the nose for Alan Partridge style accom'.

Some of the places in there are pretty family-friendly! (To my surprise).
This place Here looks to be about 30 mins or so from Cherbourg (close to Valognes) and although the website "needs work" the Sawday review emphasises its family-friendliness (teepee in garden etc), and slightly yurt-y eco-charms (nb conventional excellent bathrooms!).
It looks delightful with two cons - a bit of trundling along Normandy lanes once you leave the motorway to get to it; and they have a programme of yoga/horse-riding/ecology weekends which might mean getting enough rooms at short notice could be a problem.
Nothing else suitable in the Manche from the looks of it.

Cheers my dear. Saw a wonderful place near there but would only take two night bookings. Anyhow, have sent link to my friend to see what she thinks - she's the one doing the driving, bless!

It's at Valognes
