We're going in May and staying offsite at Holiday Inn Orange Lake. I booked our disney passes yesterday. No reservations left in Magic Kingdom for the full service restaurants so I hope that FP+ isn't full up too when we can book (30 days before).

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 01/04/2015 08:50

I'm sure FPs will be fine - apart from a few there is normally pretty good availability at 30 days out.

BloodyDogHairs · 01/04/2015 08:52

Chesty I'm staying at Rosen Inn international Smile I've never stayed on I-drive before, I'm usually at Lake buena vista or a villa. I'm looking forward to loads of things around within walking distance tho.

Poetnojo · 01/04/2015 10:38

Would love to stay at Rosen inn, the price is great and reviews are fantastic but I think the room would be a bit tight for us all, myself and Dh and our 3 kids 18, 12, 5.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 01/04/2015 12:25

Have you considered a villa? Looking at the price of the Rosen for the time we've got our villa booked for and the villa is only about £150 more for the fortnight. And for that you get 3 bedrooms, private swimming pool and all the comfort of having your own house instead of one hotel room. You would need a car with a villa though so I can understand people choosing a hotel over a villa for that reason.

BloodyDogHairs · 01/04/2015 13:29

Poet Last year I had 2 adults, 15, 10, 1 and 6 months all in the same hotel room haha 2 DC's were supposed to be in with my PIL but it never worked out like that! This year I've told the older DC's that at least one of them has to be in the PIL room.

BloodyDogHairs · 01/04/2015 16:06

Another thing ticked off the list....holiday clothes lol popped into sainsburys for easter eggs and they have 25% off clothes so I stocked up on vest tops and a few outfits for my 1 yr old Smile

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 01/04/2015 19:15

Oooh, i'm nipping in to Sainsburys tomorrow, I'll have a look! I'm dieting though so find it hard to get clothes for me as I don't know what size I'll be by the time we go... I have my eye on a gorgeous summer dress from Boden and am planning on wearing that as many days as I can get away with :)

Poetnojo · 01/04/2015 19:38

That sounds like a tight squeeze doghairs! Glad to hear you will have more space this time round.
That sounds great Lucas, the only thing stopping us from booking a villa would be having to drive over there, we like to be out and about in the evening and be able to have a few drinks with dinner so I think IDrive is where we want to be.
I plan on getting our holiday clothes when the summer stuff is reduced around September. I'm also dieting so it gives me more time to get back to my target weight.

TheAmyrlin · 01/04/2015 19:41

We go tomorrow!! Am now beyond giddy and wondering if I'm actually going to get any sleep tonight!

BloodyDogHairs · 01/04/2015 19:49

Aw have a fab time!! I'm not there until June Sad

ChestyNut · 02/04/2015 06:58

Envy seems ages til ours!

Have a fabulous time.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 02/04/2015 08:46

Yes, not havign to be a designated driver is a definite bonus of being walking distance from things! Having to not drink at dinner would normally fill me with horror on holiday but for some reason I'm not bothered about it there - probably because we usually eat earlyish with the kids and go to places like buffets where we just have a coke or something. We then come back to the villa and sit out by the pool, playing games and drinking litre bottles of Chardonnay Grin

Wow, have a fantastic time Amyrlin!! Only 191 days until my trip Grin

Has anyone here been in August before? How is the humidity, does it make yuo feel like you can't breathe air properly?! We are thinking of it for the next time and I think I could cope with the heat but I'm scared of the humidity!

BloodyDogHairs · 02/04/2015 13:39

The first year I went we went in August but tbh it was my 1st holiday abroad way back in 2001 Grin so can't remember. I hated our 1st time in florida I'm surprised I even agreed to go back a few years later.

StrawberryTallCake · 02/04/2015 14:42

Why did you hate it Bloody?

Thanks for the Sainsburys tip! Hoola swimwear have 30% off using the code EASTER30 so I've just bought myself a lovely barbie pink bikini for the big hols!

I wish we were going tomorrow!!

BloodyDogHairs · 02/04/2015 15:21

I think as it was our 1st time I wasn't prepared for the heat, the busyness of the parks. The travel agent suggested what tickets we should get and obviously put us down for everything Shock it was all abit too much haha but a few years later there was a late deal going for 2 adults 2 DC's £800 for flight, car and hotel. It was too cheap to pass up so we went again and loved it....that's when we got hooked Grin

HermioneWeasley · 05/04/2015 01:47

We are here! Had an epic day, even though the park was v busy, we managed 7 or 8 rides and only had one long queue. Kids coped brilliantly with the heat and all thr walking, and I managed to drive us from the airport to the villa without killing us, and even without the sat nav (paid £40 for the Orlando maps and can't get a bloody satellite signal!).

Thanks to Lucas for the map you recommended.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 05/04/2015 10:26

Yay, Hermione! Very well done on the driving - that would terrify me! Have a FANTASTIC time!! (and make sure you tell us all about it when you're home!)

HermioneWeasley · 05/04/2015 17:49

Thanks Lucas. Having a lazy (ish) day today as the parks will be crazy busy. Pool this morning, shopping this PM and then animal kingdom tomorrow - can't wait!

BloodyDogHairs · 05/04/2015 18:05

Aw fantastic!!! Have a fab holiday Grin

HermioneWeasley · 05/04/2015 18:26

Thanks Dog

ChestyNut · 05/04/2015 19:05
