Hi to all - I am taking my dd2 away for a short break to wales at end of month and am staying in a hotel, we have a bottle warmer and steriliser - did anyone take there microwave instead ?? I know I shouldn;t but sometimes when dd2 is screaming I find it quicker to use the micro and obviously check for hot spots etc !!! I need some friendly advice as to what you think I should take seeing as we only have the room - kettle ???

No you buy a box of large zip lock plastic bags and a small packet of sterilising tablets - you put the bottle in the bag add water and a tablet, seal the bag and leave in the sink:)

eiyher get the steri bags or steri bottles. WE just used steri bottles for dd while camping and were great. Think pack of 12 were £5

are you serious?? what a palaver!

with dd I found in summer she'd drink bottles at room temp anyway - so I did the boiling and stuff (and after 7 months didn't even boil) then just added the milk powder to the water when she needed it.)

Do u mean to warm up rather than to sterilise??
Boil the kettle and stick the bottle into a jug with the boling water (or in the kettle - once boiled and turned off obviously).
Will work quicker than the bottle warmer.

you don't need to heat formula at all

just keep it at room temperature

so make up bottles with boiled water in the morning and leave on the side to cool down to room temp .. add the formula powder as and when you need it, shake well and serve

Don't u know thats advised against now Twiglett.
It's what I did with ds1, and will do again this time if we give ff, but new advice is not to do it like that.
Also lots of smallies won't take formula like that if used to it warmed.

thanks all - will take my bottle warmer and some tablets now as I tried that out when we went to Spain last week and dd2 was fine. thanks for advice - it is always handy to know xxx
