Posh Afternoon tea in London but not too posh for kids

I'll be taking my 7 & 10 year old who are well behaved but I don't want to feel on edge all the time. Any ideas?

My friends have just done the Mad Hatter's Tea Party looks fun but I can't comment on child friendliness of the venue I'm afraid.

The Milestone Hotel in Kensington do a lovely afternoon tea and their service is excellent. They were fab when I took a group of friends and I'm sure they would be good for children too.

Thanks for those I saw the mad hatter thing but I looked at the menu and there enough things my fussy younger one wouldn't like even though most kids would. Haven't heard of the other one so will look it up.

We have had Afternoon Tea at The Athenaeum it is voted the best place in London here and whilst we were there there was a family of about 20 celebrating with at least 3 kids with them :)

Watching with interest as I'm looking for a nice afternoon tea as a treat for our anniversary - but we might have to take our daughter so needs to be child friendly too! Have you been to one yet reup?

One Aldwych do a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed afternoon tea. I'm not sure how much it is though.

I was also recommended the hotel at cliveden and we are national trust members so could go for a walk too or a boat trip.

The intercontinental at Hyde park was very welcoming to a group of kids that I saw there. Got them hot chocolate etc as they wished.

Is Fortnum & Masons not posh enough?
