Please help
My DD1 is 18m, and DD2 is 2wks. Live on an island and have to fly to England before DD1 is 2. This means she can't have a seat of her own. Will they let me sit with both on my lap, if so anyone done this and how much like hell was it???

I guess you would have to contact the airline, but ,no I don't think you will be able to save that much money!! I flew ba a few years ago in similar situation and had ds1 (18 months) on his own seat and ds2 (2 weeks)on my lap. I had intended to have ds2 in a car seat and ds1 on my lap/in car seat but car seat had to be packed up for take off and landing as it wasn't regulation size or something!!
It was surprisingly fine tbh - they both slept a lot and having the car seat meant I could put ds2 down and have hands free for a while.
the flight was only 3 hours though

They let you 18m son sit on his own seat?
Its not about the cost, were just always told they couldn't have their own seat till they were 2. Thought it was a safety thing.

We have booked seats for our 18 month son on transatlantic flights as he was far too big to sit on you for 11 hours. Check with the airline

I don't think there would be enough oxygen masks for three people in one seat...?

Check with airline, and get reply in writing, or name of person who informs you.
Aer Lingus wouldn't let me do this when I had a similar situation as the kids ( both under two) as they said that they had to sit on an adult lap each for take off and landing, even if you had bought two seats ie one for the older one.
They told me it was International Aviation law.
I remember seeing a similar scenario on one of those Easyjet programmes where the mother wasn't able to travel, even though a fellow passsenger offered to hold one of the kids for her.

Thanks I get the impression thats FlyBe's policy as well, I have to check. Good point about getting it in writing though!!
