Flotilla footwear? (And other flotilla tips?)

We are going on our first ever flotilla holiday on Monday and I am beyond excited!

we did a learn to sail holiday off peak which was fun but stormy/ cool so we wore trainers. the dds had crocs with them but we found them slippery. the dds now have elasticated rubber soled ballet pumps and neoprene windsurfing type shoes. dh and I have the neoprene shoes too, I also and I have a pair of croc flip fops with backs that seem less slippery that regular crocs. I imagine that it'll be way too hot (in Croatia) for crocs. any thoughts on our footwear choices? or any other tips? :)

Isn't it usual to have bare feet on yachts? Trapped gravel on soles of shoes scratch teak decks badly.

Too hot for crocs? I dont get that assumption.

Non marking trainers for all.

Crocs good for pottering about on shore though I've never worn them on a deck so don't know how grippy they are.

I'd have a boat rule of bare feet when underway - stubbed toes, slipping over, and not very safe.

Sorry NO bare feet when underway!

I've done a lot of Med yachting and prefer bare feet and looking where I'm going. I always found deck shoes to be hot, slippery and providing instant blisters. Perhaps white soled trainers with some thin socks?

other tips - pack minimal in soft bags. In practice you wear shorts and t-shirt every day, everything gets salty so just live with it. Stock the boat with drinking water and some dry stores for instant meals, the old tuna, pasta and sauce.

hats for everyone that tie on. Loads of suncream reapplied every two hours. Kids down below when mooring up. Anyone who wants to wear a life-jacket does so even if it is flat calm. Non-swimmers always wear one.

for evenings off the boat it is trousers/long shorts and flat shoes, you may need to get in a dinghy and you won't be doing that if you are glammed up. No hairdryer (it will be hot), no straighteners (ditto) - not enough power on the yacht anyway. Lots of mossie repellent.

and remember NOTHING down the toilet unless it is bodily wastes. It is horrible for the flotilla crew to have to unblock these when people put paper or worse down them.
