We are flying to Faro from Manchester in a few days time and have bought our 4 year old a trunki, it seems to be 1cm too wide to take onboard the plane, has anyone ever travelled with one with Ryanair? Thanks in advance x

Yes, lots of times and they are fine. The guy who came round pre boarding to check all the carry on cases were the right size said he didn't need to check the trunki's, had seen many before and they are the right size.

Apart from be warned that every airline also hates them!

They just fit under seat but you can't get out unless everyone in row gets up, so basically you have to put above heads, and can't gain access to it at any time the seat belt sign is on. When you do open it opens huge and hard to get things out as no where to put down

Trunkis are horrible to travel in my experience . My kids loved them for all of five minutes scooting in the airport and then gave up,leaving me to uncomfortably cart them . They are heavy, hard to stow, and fit zip inside. Small backpack on the flight and small wheelie case in the hold works much better for me.

Didn't have any probs travelling on ryanair with ours. You can buy a trunki tote zipped bag thing from amazon that goes inside the case which you can store toys & bits in. I just whip that out before we take off & then you have everything to hand.
