Paris plus 4 year old - which hotel?

We (dh, ds and I) are going for a short break to Paris at the beginning of July and would like to book a hotel that will be child-friendly (also free parking if poss and not too expensive). Would like to be near the Bibliotheque Nationale as I'll be at a conference there some of the time. Does anyone have experience of Paris hotels? Any recommendations?

I would not bother with a hotel, and get a self-catering place instead. www.vrbo.com is good for paris, as is www.homelidays.com.

Alternatively, I'd look at a Pierre et Vacances property, they have a few of them around Paris, probably very child-friendly.

I am afraid I don't know where Bibliotheque Nationale is, but we stayed in a fab hotel in the 5th Arrondissement on the left bank if that is any help.

All the rooms have a kitchenette (with hob, sink and fridge) and ours was the suite on the top floor so it had a bedroom and another bed in an adjoining room. It was perfect for a couple with a child. It was called "Hotel Residence Henri IV" - we booked online so managed to get it cheaper that way. It's nice too.

Bibliotheque Nationale has its own RER/ Metro station Bibliothèque François Mitterrand. So it will be easy enough to reach especially if your accomodation is near a Metro staion too.

We stayed in a \link{http://www.citea.com/en/choixcitea.asp\ Citea studio}, which is probably a cheaper option than an apartment. We had a studio with a raised mezzanine which had 2 singles for the kids and a bed setee for us down stairs. It was very steep and open to the rest of the room but meant the kids were far enough away that we could watch DVD's in peace. I wouldn't recomend that type of room for young kids but they do so other styles. We stayed at Saint Denis - Pleyel which was a bit out of the way and a bit scary at night getting out of the metro station, the one near the Cite museum \link{http://www.citea.com/en/citea_description.asp?IDhotel=36\La Villette}looks really good and is on a street with lots of restruants and shops. 75E pn for the studio and 95E pn for a suite.
