Brave you, but having tried it, I can assure you it's no holiday. Why not try the South Welsh Coast

imip · 17/07/2013 06:30

Try Keycamp, Yelloh etc for good camping sites. We have four dds aged bw 1 -6 so get where you are coming from. They have kids clubs where you could leave the triplets for a couple of hours. We travel only to Normandy to keep car sickness to a minimum. Kids loved it! We stayed in a caravan because I think I couldn't keep my eyes on all four in a tent without them wandering away etc. last camp we stayed at was les Vikings in Normandy and it was pretty good!

Club Farret at Vias Plage

ShoeWhore · 17/07/2013 11:03

There's a beautiful one on the Ile de Re called Interlude.

TheFallenNinja · 17/07/2013 11:08

There's a few on Cap Feret, lovely Sandy beach and a lot of it.

TheFallenNinja · 17/07/2013 11:08

Cap Ferret even.

I second imip - Yelloh Campsites have a good standard.

You see I also have 5 older children who ar now much older so we have done most of France ( but NOT in a tent) hence the urge to try new or Spain.i find it quite stressful with the French and the triplets behaviour .The Spanish seem so much more relaxed and noisy :)
Always used to keep away from the big sites but now that we are much longer in the tooth and feeling every wrinkle ,those kids clubs ar starting to sound very appealing ....will start having a look through.
he area around vias plage is amazing for anyone with older children ...the cathar castles, carcasonne ,cap d,Agde ....the ravines inland ....the trips just not quite ready for all that yet....thank you will start having a look :)

motherofluvlies · 18/07/2013 22:46

Thank you..the Spanish yellow are not at beach or Balearics unless I read that wrong...so still searching .i think Portugal is just a bit too far.i had picked serignan plage but ....no pitches left Sad

If advise you to get booking. It took me ages to find a vacancy this week. Loads are booked up already.

If you still fancy Spain have you looked at Tamrit Park near Tarragona? Its in a pretty quite area but only a short drive or train ride to Barcelona and Port Aventura. Nice mid sized site right on a lovely beach.

motherofluvlies · 20/07/2013 17:02

Hi englishgirlapprox liking the look of that but a little concerned about the pool rules on reviews......mentioned repeatedly about not wearing tee shirts around pool and late opening hours.....have you been yourself? How suitable do you think it might be for 5 yr olds and lastly( interrogation nearly over) did you notice the pitches as all the reviews seem to be from mobile homes....Thank you :)

Campsites in France but near the spanish border (Biarritz area) tend to have a lot of spanish families - thus a relaxed atmosphere - I thought anyway. But yes, having holiday'd in France and Spain, the attitude in Spain is VERY child friendly.

Milliways · 21/07/2013 14:52

EL Delfin Verde is in SPain, just over the border from the Languedox region, and has direct access to a fab beach. We had a week at La Carabasse, Vias Plage and a week at El Delfin Verde one year, and the kids preferred the SPanish site (but we have done La Carabasse 3 times).

Camping Sanguli is also right opposite a huge beach with Portaventura in the same town, and a station a few minutes walk away if you fancy a day in Barcelona.

Only just seen this sorry. I went in very low season and it was pretty relaxed tbh. but that could change in high season. Pitches are grassy and a good size for Spain, many separated by shrubs, individual sinks etc. They're at the front of the site nearest the beach. Not loads of kids facilities but very welcoming in the restaurant and the beach is great. One if the best family sites I've been to in Spain is Cypsela in Pals but it isn't on the beach, theres a shuttle bus. Great pitches and loads to do.

Agree with Define Verde too, really nice site. Have you looked at the one in Playa Bara? I've only done an overnight there but it looked nice.

motherofluvlies · 22/07/2013 00:36

At the minute enquiring about playa bara...Tx all

Camping in Il de Re is perfect with dcs - lots of sites to choose from, all sites are on their tourist (google it) site.

Only thing is its difficult to get there but you don't need a car once there, as its all cycling, just about (if your dcs can ride a bike? If not, its a good chance to learn). Its possible to fly to La Rochelle and then taxi to site having hired a ready-made tent/bungalow - or take a low weight one on the plane? If driving, its 3-4 hrs from Brittany.

We've been a few times - youngest was 6 first year and happy to run around finding friends on the campsite. We drove and took tents.

tabulahrasa · 22/07/2013 01:24

I know two people who've been to camping sanguli with young children and reccomend it.

motherofluvlies · 22/07/2013 13:42

Just looked up sanguli and it looks fab at ......90.50 euros a night!playa bara is 75.90 a night ....I am pretty shocked [shocked] we always got last minute deals for mobiles for the same price but my hubby wants to camp .
