Overnight ferry with 6 month old - how?

Can anyone please enlighten me as to how we travel on a ferry with DD who will be 6 months old. Obviously we will need a cot rather than a bunk but I can find no mention of this anywhere. We are looking at Rosyth - Zeebrugge crossing as coming from NE Scotland.

I used to do the Amsterdam to Newcastle route a lot with 3 kids, one your dd's age at the time (28 overnight) It was a pain to be honest, esp as I was on my own, but 'do-able'! I never had a cot but co-slept with ds which was a little uncomfortable as bunks are narrow but at least he slept and I didn't have to move to feed him! I went to bed early (around 9ish) having let the other kids run wild in the kids' area, ball pond etc, we took our own dinner (food on this particular ferry line was fine if in the proper restaurants but awful in the snack bar). I'm sure its different if you are with another adult, but I just found it a bit crazy with the other 2, aged 4 and 6 at the time, disappearing every 2 minutes and found it less stressful to confine us all to the cabin as much as possible!! Took lots of books, comics etc for kids and trashy novel for me, as well as pre-mixed gin and tonics!! Am sure yours will be much easier though, Fonzie!! Are you taking your car? I used to take the buggy on board the ferry - useful to contain ds if I had to go to the loo etc.

I've not done that particular crossing, but on the ferry we regularly use (Hull to Rotterdam) they supply travel cots and bedding free of charge. Sometimes we prebook, sometimes we forget - but they always have one available. They're helpful with the children - supply bedguards etc. too.
We've got 3 little ones and have been doing this crossing regularly for years and years. The cabins generally reasonably soundproof so don't worry too much about crying.

We do the overnight Portsmouth/St Malo every year with young kids and it's fab. My friend travelled with heer 6m old son and took his buggy on which lay flat. Strapped him in and put it between their bunks with brakes on and he slept all night. Sure htey will have cots/bed sides though if you phone and ask
