So I am looking and measuring 2 trunkis and think they will just be okay for hand luggage but I wonder if they will be 0.25 centimeter too wide. I just wondered if anyone had taken them as hand luggage on ryan air or easyjet? I just keep measuring and measuring and dont want to get to the airport and have to pay to put them in the hold!!

We took one as hand luggage with Easyjet and didn't have a problem.

I think one of the low cost carriers has just reduced the size of its 'guaranteed' hand luggage allowance, but I'm not sure which one.

Yes we took one, with Monarch though, they are made to a standard size, I have to say though, i sold ours as soon as we got back because they are an absolute pain in the ass!
DS rode on it for about 3metres then we had to carry it, bulky awkward pita

Sorry :) i know loads of people love them!

My friend said that if its just a way to take luggage without paying they're great, but if your DCs want access to them while on board they're big and bulky, need to be opened up fully like a suitcase to get anything out, so she ended up with all DCs' toys, snacks etc in her handbag instead.

Went Ryanair a couple of weeks ago and there were a couple on our flight as hand luggage. They were making sure bags fixed in the box thing at the gate though and being pretty strict about it.

it's easyjet who have just reduced the guaranteed hand luggage dimensions, but if you pay for their priority boarding (or pay for at least 1 extra legroom seat) then you're guaranteed cabin baggage space for the larger size

My kids are all grown so have never used trunki, but have seen lots of kids using them in airport terminals & they generally look to be loving either riding on them or pulling them (& it does mean they have somewhere to sit if you're waiting at the gate & all seats are taken)

couldn't comment on Ryanair, but if you google there are a lot of people asking, because they are 1cm bigger in one dimension (& you know what bastards Ryanair can be Angry). should be no prob with Easyjet

forgot to say, if easyjet decide it has to go in the hold because it's over their guaranteed (smaller) size, you don't have to pay extra!

I imagine that's cold comfort if all your dcs' toys are in the bag in the hold though ponders !

We don't have them but I've always thought they look cumbersome when the little darlings inevitably get tired of them Grin
