Spending money help.

Hi there I know this is the most annoying question and very hard to answer but any advice would be welcome. We are going on our first keycamp holiday to Italy next month. We have never done a self catering holiday before and I have no idea what to budget for spending money. I was thinking 100e per day, we have car hire so no money required for transfers and transport. We are going for 10 days in total, so I was thinking another few hundred on day trips but I would like to keep our total spend to under 1500e. Do you think this is possible? We plan on eating breakfast and lunch in bringing picnics when we go out just in case we don't find any where decent to eat. We love BBQs so would be happy doing a few of these and getting a take away another couple of nights and eating out around 4/5 evenings.

We have 3 children who will have a fair bit of their own spends, I have already said to them if they want snacks and drinks around the pool then they can either buy it or get it from the bungalow as we will have stocked up. I always find when we are half board we spend a lot of money on snacks like this so am hoping to avoid this as much as possible. Obviously we will treat them to icecreams and when we are out on day trips snacks ect.

We will have access to more money but I would rather not spend over the 1500e and to be honest preferably 1200e.

Any opinions or feedback would be more than welcome!!

We have managed fairly easily on 1200 euros for two weeks in France. The DC's were restricted to one ice cream from the bar per day and we stocked the freezer with cheap ones from the supermarket.
We didn't eat out that much but did use the campsite restaurant which was reasonably priced.
TBH if the weather is good we were quite happy spending time by the pool so didn't spend a huge amount on days out but when we did we took picnics and snacks with us so that there were only ice creams to buy.

Whereabouts in Italy are you going? It's somewhere I would love to go but the sites seem to be quite large and we prefer the smaller ones.

Thanks for your reply, that's great to know. We plan on a few days out like to Venice and Verona, a theme park trip and maybe a boat trip. I have been advised to bring picnics for the cities as it can be hard to find somewhere to eat as it can be busy so hopefully those two days wont cost a lot. We plan on going out every second day, so low cost one day higher the next.
We are going to the Lake Garda area, our camp is called Altomincio it has around 650 homes so I don't know how that compares with where you have stayed?
There are smaller campsites in the area, I read about them after I booked, I think it was actually on the keycamp site. I had been going to book Bella Italia but it has over 1200 pitches and I don't think that includes the separate hotel. Its on the lake and looks fab, its very popular but that sounds very hectic.

Thanks again for your response. :-)
