Copenhagen with a toddler

Cross posted in Chat and Short haul.
I've just booked a long weekend away in Copenhagen in July for me, DH and DS, who will be 21 months. I love Copenhagen but haven't been for many years. The last time I was there it was all about museums, food, cycling around. This time will be very different! Can anyone advise on some really cool things to do with a toddler in tow? DS loves running, climbing, exploring, generally being a busy, inquisitive little thing (not the sort of toddler to sit calmly at the table in a restaurant). I'm hoping to hear MNers' experiences of child-friendly museums, parks, fun stuff - any recommendations gratefully received. I'm already sending up prayers to the weather fairies to turn on the sunshine, as I'm hoping to do things like a cruise up the harbour etc.
Also, can anyone recommend accommodation? The last time I went we booked a gorgeous little apartment hotel, but I can't remember its name. I'm thinking an apartment might be easier with an early-waking toddler, but again would love to hear from anyone who has had a positive experience staying in Copenhagen with a little one.

I haven't been, but I remember reading a recommendation somehwere for the Tivoli Hotel. I think it's really child friendly. As I haven't been to Copenhagen though, that's probably a bit useless isn't it!

Child friendly hotels

Hire bikes with kid seat and zoom around the city, on Stroget Cafe Norden is busy but does fab kid meals. Watch the changing of the guard at Amalienborg. We did Copenhagen with a nearly 2 year old and loved it. Stayed with family so can't help on that. Have a great time and eat lots of wienerbrod.

Ooh that website actually seems quite useful! It has city guides listing child friendly cafes and activities too. We're booking a trip to Berlin with our 18month old, so I will be checking out the Berlin section!

Copenhagen has to be one of the most child friendly cities ever!

Def take him to the Superkilen Park, which is one of the most innovative parks ever here... and you can have picnics there!

Of course you can still cycle, it is very safe here and they'll rent child seats or trailers www.visitcopenhagen.com/transport/bike-city-copenhagen

Walk on the canals all the way to the little mermaid statue (the statue isn't that interesting, but the walk is very good and there is a darling play area designed by I can't remember which famous designer Grin

Anyway, here's a list of child friendly stuff you'll find there: www.luvaville.com/travel-with-kids/copenhagen/best-things-to-do-with-kids

iI meant it's very safe there, not here. Unfortunately I do not live in Copenhagen.

danishdays.blog.com/2012/03/25/cafe-holberg-no19/ this cafe is lovely (for a quick beer) and it's where I bumped into the actress who plays sarah lund!!!

Oh wow thanks, some great links here! StyleManual and Franca I had come across the lulaville guide and looked through the suggested hotels there. Once I'd picked myself up off the floor (to whence I had fainted at the cost of the hotels - I liked the look of staying at the Tivoli until checking the room rate) I spent the baby's entire naptime researching apartment hotels and booked a gorgeous-looking place through this website
Getting seriously excited now. I worked out it's been ten years since I was last there, so looking forward to seeing what's changed, revisiting old favourites, eating some seriously good cheese etc.
