Hi - we're going on a week's cheap summer sun break with our 9 month old. Whilst I know it will be lovely once we're away, I'm feeling a bit anxious about all the logistics (I have PND). We haven't flown before and I don't know what I should bring, what to leave behind or the best way to prepare. If anyone can offer any tips (or even give me an idea of what to expect on the flight, what to do with the pram etc.) I'd be incredibly grateful - thanks!

Always bring all the necessary. Enjoy every moment and don't stress out. Always keep your things handy and easy to bring.

I always took everything I needed. Nappies, milk etc. Can’t be doing with knowing I need to get it when I arrive.

On plane have nappies/wipes/nappy bags in a small bag in your hand luggage. Just take the small bag into airplane loos. Tiny amount of space.

Also another small bag for each set of spare clothes. At least 2. Mine were both pretty clean but always managed to mess up clothes on planes. Then u can just grab bag(s) and go.

I used to take an empty liquitabs container and Milton tabs to sterilise bottles. Take a little bottle of washing up liquid and a bottle brush.

On plane, have plenty of dummies in yet another bag if you use them. A food bag is great. Like a tiny cooler bag. Have lots of snacks. IMO a plane is the one place where plenty of snacks and iPads are to be used whenever needed!

You can take buggy to the gate. Usually it will come out on the oversized baggage carousel but there are exceptions so check.

Don’t get on the plane early. Wait till the last passenger has boarded then get on. Why would you want to sit on a plane with a baby for an extra 30 minutes while everyone else faffs about? Nowadays we use the extra time to let our kid’s run around and burn off some steam.

Have a fabulous time!

Oh and for prescription milk you can take as much as you want through security. If it’s liquid they now put each bottle in a special machine so no testing it. If it’s powder again no issue. I used to travel with upto 8 obthe single use cartons, have travelled many many times with babies with formula and never had an issue anywhere so please don’t worry.
