Advise - Driving in France

Could anyone give me advice about what I need to do to be legal while driving in France? I realise that I have to obtain or extent my insurance to include driving abroad, but I have heard vague talk about putting stickers on the headlights and carrying spare lightbulbs, is there any one who knows exactly what I need to do?

TIA:)

you need to either adjust your headlights or use stickers
if you don't have a new eu number plate then you need a GB sticker
you need a warning triangle
first aid kit
fire extinguisher?
spare bulbs and fuses
luninous waistcoat?

oh and be aware of French signposting - if there are no signs at a roundabout then go straight on Grin

Got us through the nightmare that is Rouen once! Grin

Watch out for random breathalizer tests. I got stopped (and tested) on a minor road at 8am and I was 7 months pregnant.

there are also lower wet weather speed limits which also apply if you have been driving less than 2 years

the luminous jacket is compulsory in Spain and Italy but not France

Am really clueless, how will I know the angle of the stickers is correct, is it just a case of trial and error?

Am travelling very early in morning 6am or thereabouts so hope the roads will be empty so any hesitating will not cause any problems for other road users!
