I visited on Saturday and have a question, why is there no signs about queue jumping? The only reason I say his is because I actually had an instance of a women and two kids push past everyone on the excuse of "we were in the queue and they needed the toilet" her husband was indeed on his own further down the line but that's beside the point.

When I challenged the women she was rude asking why the hell my problem was! After this we got to a point where they were oposite us at a queue line turn around only for him to start abusing me. He stoos there mouthing off and my reply was "it's done with, if you feel you gave an issue then you must think you need to defend yourself, one please leave it alone" at this point he told me to f* off, and several parents then told him to belt up.

The funniest bit of this was when my daughter asked "Why's that man being so nasty and why did he use a naughty word" (she's only five) at which point he apologised. But I really don't think he saw the "saving a place" as a problem

We are visiting LL for the first time in June, we have a 2 and 4 year old. From reading previous posts I need them measuring, waterproof trousers, change of clothes and a basic Q bot, is there anything else I need to know/have?

cathpip · 27/05/2013 20:43

Also my ds has a hearing loss for which he is aided and does not do well in crowded areas, is there a pass I can get to avoid queues, do I need to provide dla proof or will we just have to suck it up and cope with the queuing?

candodad · 27/05/2013 21:17

Millais - No I'm saying the dad had clearly joined the queue whilst the children were on another ride, the toilet thing was purley an excuse as we had been in the queue for half an hour and no one had passed us to "go to the toilet", if that had been the case I wouldnt of minded it at all.

candodad · 27/05/2013 21:22

cathpip -

What is a Ride Access Pass?

Ride Access Passes may be used by eligible guests to access up to ten (10) rides via the ride exit during their day. The special access is intended to provide a reduced waiting time compared to the standard queue line although this cannot always be guaranteed. Each pass allows up to three people to benefit from this special access if they are visiting the Park with the disabled guests.

This of course does not limit the guests from enjoying any of the other shows and other activities on the Park as many times as they choose, including any of the rides, by joining the standard queue lines which on quiet day in any case will offer speedy, trouble free access.

Please not that the Ride Access Pass may also be used to access the Hill Train via the exit an unlimited number of times (this is in addition to the special access to ten other rides provided by the pass).

Please note that having a registered disability does not automatically guarantee receiving a Ride Access Pass. We reserve the right to make changes to, or withdraw, the Ride Access policy withour priory notice.

Who is Eligible?

Ride Access Passes are reserved for guests with disabilities which prevent them from queuing. For example, guests who do not understand the concept of queuing; have difficulties with everyday social interaction; have a limited capacity to follow instruction or to understand others? emotional feelings or expressions, and may therefore become agitated or distressed if they had to queue for a ride for an extended period of time.

In view of the level of accessibility in the Resort, wheelchair users are not eligible for a Ride Access Pass. For those rides and attractions where wheelchair access is via the exit, a Ride Access Pass is not required. For more information please refer to our Accessibility Guide.

Accepted Forms of Proof

The issuance of Ride Access Passes is based upon documentary proof of disability (blue or orange badges will not be accepted as this does not state the nature of the disability).

Examples of documentation required are:
?GP?s letter
?Association Membership details
?Council run membership
?Any other form that states the disability

Please note, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) letters are not sufficient as they do not state the nature of the disability. Our staff are not medically trained so unless there is a disability clearly stated we are unable to know what services are required. Guests without suitable documentation will not be issued with a Ride Access Pass. Guests will be required to sign a Ride Access Pass declaration on production of suitable documentation. Documentation will need to be presented for each Ride Access Pass application.

Photographic identification is needed on each and every occasion an application for a Ride Access Pass is made at Guest Services.

The decision as to what evidence is suitable rests with the Resort staff. If in doubt, please contact Guest Services in advance.

We're off to LL soon and I've got a quick query/ am a bit confused about parent swap. I'm taking 2 DC aged 3 and 5 by myself. Will I be able to take them both on the rides together or one at as time? Thanks

candodad · 27/05/2013 23:00

Boatclub - It depends on the ride, some are limited to 2 only, these you will need parent swap for.

twitchypalm · 27/05/2013 23:17

cathpip Im a legoland annual pass holder we visit at least 3 times a month. when in june are you planning on going as personally i doubt you will need to bother spending out on a qbot.

are you going for 1 or 2 days?

Somermummy1 · 28/05/2013 09:39

boatclub · 28/05/2013 12:36

Thanks candodad.

cathpip · 28/05/2013 14:31

Twitchpalm we are going on Sat 9th June am hoping that it will only be big rides that they will be to small for that will have long queues, but we are only visiting for the day so don't want to get caught up for to long. candodad thanks for the info, i don't think he will qualify as my ds is not disastrous in queues its just the noise level in crowded areas that disorientates him. He is only 4 so we will be with him and if I need a Q bot thing i will buy one.

twitchypalm · 28/05/2013 15:35

Somermummy if you want to msg me i can fill you in on tips.

KittieCat · 28/05/2013 15:43

DS is 2.5 are we crazy to take him to LL? Is there enough for v young ones to make it worthwhile?

I went with friends years ago and before DS but I imagine a lot has changed since then...

twitchypalm · 28/05/2013 15:48

Cathpip the best way to avoid needing a qbot is to get there for 9:30 you will be able to access the shops and stawars miniland.

When the open the gates to the rest of the park immediatly head down to the bottom of the park. Dont bother with the train down it takes to long queing. When You are down there you can do atlantis first you will walk straight on it. You then. Work your way back up the park towards the entrance. You avoid the queues this way as everyone stops at the first ride they get to.

Likewise leaving if the park closes at 6 and you are in a ride queue at 6 you will get to do the ride. What we do is we go up to the entrance and sit and have a coffee in the hilltop cafe as they empty the park from the bottom up its normally a good hour before they kick you out after closing time. means you can can have a rest and look round the shops. Better than sitting in a queue of traffic in the car park. we always do it this way. On starwars weekend they closed the park as it was full. It still only took as 5 mins to get out of carpark. As everyone rushes out at 6 then sits in there cars for ages.

If you want to no anything else feel free to pm me.

Seconding Twitchys tips and advice!!

Somermummy waterproofs if its cold, for the waterrides ie pirate falls and x challenge. If its warm you need swimgear for Duplo Valley. And towels. Weve seen alot of clever children in wetsuits in Duplo Valley, very clever and a good tip. And a change of clothes is always good!!:) remember you will get wet on the Green train too!:)

Kittiecat there are lots to do for a 2.5 year old, more if hes taller than 90 cm.

A qbots advantage is that it will take all the stress out of your day. It is very much worth the money if you are just coming for the day, and can afford it. If its not too busy read all the tips on here and dont fall for the trap of doing the rides in the order you find them.

Viking river splash has a 2 hour queue 10 mins after opening whilst the spider 2 mins down is empty.....mad!!!

Have fun!!!

Great. Thank you NoRoom. Heads off to plan...after I've got out the tape measure!

NoRoomForMeInMyBed · 30/05/2013 21:27

Went to duplo valley today again, fantastic fun but will be horrendously busy come warmer weather.

Fairy tale brook has had a great facelift, well done LL!!!

Queues not too bad today as it was overcast, but with lots of qbot people about the normal queues moved very slowly at times which gets really frustrating.

Tomorrow will be heaving as sunshine is forecast!:)

I have vouchers that we need to use before they expire. I was thinking of going tomorrow but dh reckons it will be horrendous because its half term. If we don't go tomorrow we will have to go one weekend. Are weekends any quieter?

NoRoomForMeInMyBed · 30/05/2013 22:06

Weekends are worse!!! Esp a half term weekend! Go tomorrow, get there at 9.30. Get a qbot if you can afford it and bring a nice picknick, and a change of clothes. You will have a lovely day!!! Dont miss the pirate show, they were brilliant as always today!!

OP posts:
NoRoomForMeInMyBed · 30/05/2013 22:09

Just re read your post, weekends in term time are busy but not too bad, esp if its overcast and rainy it will be quieter. I would probably still go tomorrow as the weather looks nice, and prebook a qbot online. Have fun

We have an inset day on Friday June 21st, but seeing as LL was virtually deserted when we went in March I'm wondering if we'll be frustrated by the queues if we go again.

What do the regulars think?

MonkeyChicken · 31/05/2013 00:22

I only live about 45 minutes or so from LL but have never been. It's always seemed just a bit overwhelming...however I've exchanged my tesco vouchers and am thinking about going on Monday as it's an INSET day. My DD is 4.9 and my DS 2.10 DS is over 90cm. Unfortunately I need to be home no later than 6.30pm so guess we'll have to leave the park by 4.30ish to make sure we are home in time. I'm a bit worried about coping at legoland with the 2 kids. DS will get pretty grotty without his nap and if he falls asleep in the buggy I guess DD and I will just need to chill for an hour or so. Also I have a lower back condition which I guess I should be wary of. I'm thinking that an INSET day will be quieter than other times. Alternatively I could suggest we go for father's day (with DH, of course) extra pair of hands and also I think he'll be a bit gutted to miss out. Hmmmmm. Or maybe I go Monday, as a bit of suck it and see and then exchange more Tesco vouchers in time for father's day...I know the kids will love it, but it seems vast with soooo much to do and soooo many insiders tips/rules I feel a bit scared...help me feel brave, please!

NoRoomForMeInMyBed · 31/05/2013 09:13

Monkeychicken dont worry there are lots of things at LL that does not requrie to queue or take your little one out of the buggy, ie
PIRATE SHOW
PUPPET SHOW
MINI LAND
DUPLO VALLEY
PIRATES PLAYGROUND
HOTEL PLAYGROUND
PLAYGROUND BEHIND SQUID RIDER

if I go on my own with the kids (-all things you can do with 2 over 90 cms) I would do this (in order)
ATLANTIS
DINO SAFARI (only if you are happy to parentswap)
BOATING SCHOOL
MINI DRIVING SCHOOL (age 3-5 if you teach DS to say hes 3 he can go on)
PIRATE SHOW for lunch at 12, get seated at 11.40
BALLOON SCHOOL
GREEN TRAIN (quieter during pirate shows (12,2 and 4)
LAZER RIDERS
SWINGS AND ROUNDABOUTS In egyptian square
MINILAND
DUPLO VALLEY
BLUE TRAIN
FAIRYTALE BROOK
HELICOPTERS(if you are happy to parentswap)
4d cinema
SKY train
......there is much more but you can easily fill a day and you wont have time to do all of the above so you will def have to come back with daddy. At least you can get the hang of it all and have some fun.

Dont forget to pick up wristbands at guest services to write your mobile no on in case you get lost or separated. Have fun!!!
