Thankyou I hope she does qualify for it, itd certainly make it more enjoyable for her (and easier for us) as its a huge balancing act at the moment.

Will take our dla paperwork and get her DSN to write a note too (will phone and check they will accept that).
Thanks

Has anyone any tips about taking a dog? We are (I guess) legoland veterans by virtue of going each summer but this would be the first time with the pup. I have booked a 2 day package and gone for a hotel that accepts dogs as we will be on our way on holiday. Legoland have kennels. Presumably we just get there ultra early? Keep popping back to check? Any helpful advice most welcome.

Can I ask some probably stupid questions to those of you who are clearly complete experts?!

Thinking of going for a 4th birthday treat this summer. Actual date is a Sat so planning to go a Fri just before - will there be much difference in busy factor between end of June or early July? Wondering whether private school hols make much difference...

Also, have been on the clubcard website, am I right that if we use them, we can only buy the tickets on the gate? It looks like they send me a voucher which I need to use on the day rather than in advance. Is that OK or do we risk having to get there massively early to queue even to get in the gate? We would probably drive there that morning.

Finally, have seen comments above re 90cm limit, what's the next significant height cut off? Just trying to figure out which sorts of areas we're likely to focus on....

Thanks so much!

mummytime · 14/04/2013 20:54

I think the website has a lot of information on heights for rides, it can change year on year. It has changed a lot even on the same rides whilst my children have grown up, and then the rides change a bit sometimes.
With Tescos you get a voucher and do have to exchange it at a ticket booth, the queues aren't usually too bad. If you can I would aim to arrive at least 1/2 hour before opening, to walk from the car, get your tickets, mand walk around the very top bit.
You will then make the most of the low queues at he start of the day.

Private schools tend to break up about mid July. Scottish Schools at the end of June. Lots of state schools have inset days at the end of June/ beginning of July. There can also be school or nursery trips.
I would go on a Monday rather than a Friday, and when rain/drizzle is forecast, is often better.

Is it worth taking DD to Legoland? She is 2.5 and we could go at a weekend any time over the summer or aim for early September when she will be 3. She is definitely over 90cm. She liked Chessington when she was just 2, but isn't really very interested in Lego itself.

NoRoomForMeInMyBed · 14/04/2013 22:04

Breatheslowly absolutly!!! If your DD is over 90 cm she can go on lots of things, no need to particularly like Lego. She can drive the minicars, ride a submarine, fly in a dragonmobile, see "real" pirates, fly balloons, ride carousel horses....whats not to like? Go before she turns 3 so you wont have to pay for her.

RE Tesco vouchers, if there are queues for the ticket boothes to exchange your voucher, just look out for the staff queue combing, they will swap your voucher there and then and save you joining the queue.

Excellent, I have a few questions please.

Are we best off going on a weekday in September or weekend day in the next few months?

Also do you know if DD will still be free if DH and I go on tesco vouchers?

And finally, the waterproof trouser thing, do you think adults need them too?

Many thanks.

itsatiggerday · 15/04/2013 09:51

Fab, thank you. And good thought on the Monday rather than Friday thing, will talk to DH about taking a day off!

DejaB00 · 16/04/2013 16:33

Hi everyone!
I love this thread, I've made loads of notes, still have a few questions though!
We're going this Thursday and Friday with our 3yo DS. I don't think it's the school holidays anywhere so do you think it'll be quiet?
The weather is looking like showers and 13 degrees so hopefully won't be too cold.
We'll be staying at the Hilton Bracknell, has anyone stayed there and have any tips?
I'm not keep on getting splashed on rides, and I don't think DS will be... Is it obvious which ones are wet?
Does the park open at 9.30am and close at 5 every day?
Are age/pregnancy warnings (im 18 weeks pg) clear on the map? I don't want DS to look fwd to a ride only to find at the last minute that we can't go on it...
Thanks for help, sooo excited!

NoRoomForMeInMyBed · 16/04/2013 18:11

breathe weekday is always better than weekend IMO, esp out of holiday time. A school day midweek in september will be fab, quiet and hopefully still warm!

Yes an under 3 will still be free with tesco vouchers. If you have enough points get the annual pass for you and DH and you can go as many times as you want!:)

Waterproof trousers might be overkill if its warm but bring spare trousers and tops for yourselves too, nothing worse than walking around in wet clothes!;)

dejaBoo it should be quieter as long as its not school holidays!!! If you look on the official legoland website you will find a grid with openingtimes as it varies in the summermonths.

There are no really dangerous rides at LL, obviously the wilder ones like the viking boat and rollercoaster is a no no, and the ones that involve bumping like boating school have warning signs clearly displayed at the ride entrance. I managed to get on the helicopters at 32w pregnant but that was a squeeze and bump wouldt fit after that!:)

The water ones are all obvious, except the big green train. Sit in the last carriage and you get plenty of warning to duck. Have kids in the middle and your back to the outside and you can dodge most of them. There is only water in the first minute, once you pass the bridge you are clear. Its lovely so do go on it, your DS will love it. Then go up above it and squirt the next ride with the watercannon buttons! Hihihihi!

I know this is a massive long shot but does anyone have any idea if there are any vegan options food wise or which restaurant would be most likely to have something?

I've kind of assumed I'll just have to have chips but I thought it was worth an ask in here just in case!

DilysPrice · 18/04/2013 21:31

The burger place does a falafel burger, which is worth a try, you could ask to have it without cheese or mayo, but I wouldn't swear to it being vegan.

louismummy · 18/04/2013 21:36

don't go for the falafel burger, there are the worst i've ever tasted

Vivienne4 · 20/04/2013 08:28

I can recommend dog daycare in Windsor as an alternative to Legoland kennels! www.walkiesinwindsor.co.uk

YoniFoolsAndHorses · 21/04/2013 14:18

Thank you vivienne, I shall look them up!

pumpkinsweetie · 21/04/2013 14:24

Marking place again, we are going next sat eek, so excited!!! Probably more than the kids Grin
Going to read through these posts for information Smile

One question, i have heard that we will get very wet, will it be cheaper to buy rain kagool type things elsewhere or are they quite cheap from legoland hears hoping??

Two question, with a two year old who is quite short will there be any rides she can go on or will she be limited to what's available?

Tia x

noodleone · 21/04/2013 15:56

The poncho waterproof things are £3.50 for adults an possibly a bit cheaper for kids. The height limit for a lot of the rides is 90cm so it depends on how short she is. There's plenty to fill a day if she is smaller but you will have to walk past a lot.

pumpkinsweetie · 21/04/2013 16:26

Thankyou noodle that's brill, quite alot less priced than what i was expecting Smile
Great news about my little one, me and dh are going so i guess we will split up so that we both get to take the older dc on the rides.

Just got to work out the train journey now, which is going to cost alot more than the actual entry as we are using cereal coupons. Think it works out to be quite expensive, and i don't want to pay online incase plans are changed due to weather.

NoRoomForMeInMyBed · 21/04/2013 18:50

Pumpkin check out the national rail offer, if you buy a rail ticket you get free entry. Google it or check out money saving expert the link was on there!!

Thankyou noroom, I'll check it out Smile wondering whether i can use it with the cereal adults go free vouchers, i hope so Grin
