We are planning on going to Ireland in the Summer but want a butlins/aven type place with entertainment and kids club.

Any one know of any names/websites. I've tried the usual ones hoseasons, butlins, haven etc but none in Ireland.

Where do the irish go?

Spain - have you not heard about the weather in Ireland.Grin

yes. Were just mad!lol

We're trying to combine it with visiting relatives near Belfast, as a way of avoiding driving 50 hours for a days trip.

Believe me, I'd rather be heading for the Vendee!

HI,
It depends where you are going in Ireland. It is not like the Uk, many people hire out cottages for a break. I'm origannally from cork and I know they have a plcae not unlike butlins called trabolgan. You can look it up on the internet www.trabolgan.com.Hope his helps

We hired a cottage on the Burren (County Clare) when we went, it did seem very much the thing to do and was cheaper imo than I would have apid for same here. Of course, entertainment on site IS handy with kids isn't it?

Trabolgan was the only one I could find too. It's a long way from Belfast though! It's just not the done thing here mumofthreebeauties!Grin Agree with Ballymoy, people tend to rent a cottage/bungalow for a week somewhere near a beach.

There are loads of gorgeous cottages all over Ireland. Some are on small complexes with groups of cottges that are pupose built and share perhaps a swimming pool and games facilities. \link{http://www.hoseasons.co.uk/holidays/search/ricottagesearch2.asp\Hoeseasons} have loads but perhaps cheaper to book direct if you see something you like.

If you want to be within reasonable driving distance of the Ferry and Belfast, you could have a look at the \link{http://www.hagansleisure.co.uk\Hagans Leisure site} and in particular their \link{http://www.hagansleisure.co.uk/parks/silvercliffsholidayvillage\Silvercliffs Holiday Village} which is at Ballycastle. Ballycastle has an excellent beach and you would be within easy driving distance of a number of places of interest along the Antrim and Causeway Coast.

Hope this helps.

Hiya, there is a few camping sites around the causeway coast, there are a couple between Portstewart and Portrush. Thats not too far a drive to belfast!! Hey, if I'm feeling adventurous I'll let you pitch up in our back field Wink

Hi Butterflymum, are you local to Ballycastle?
