HELP....NEED REALLY NICE ORLANDO RESORT!!

Got 5 seats held on a flight for 24 hours. Need to find a resort, only stayed in vilas before, but feel the kids are now 15 a resort would be nice for them in the evenings. Must have space at least 2 bedrooms, nice pools, restaurants and a big bonus would be to walk to supermarket, other restaurants etc. Which area, only know the 192 as we have stayed in villas. Does anyone know much about Celebration? Thanks.

Resorts are much more expensive triplets and we used downtown disney to give our teenagers a place to hang out. would suggest you try some of the specialist disney forums found them to be really useful.

Sheraton Vistana Villages are really lovely. We have stayed in their two bed apartments 3 times.

On the quiet end of I Drive though. However, there is the trolley bus which stops outside the resort which will take you up and down I drive. Left out of the resort is a Publix supermarket which we always go to. We always have a car but you could get the trolley bus no problem or a taxi would only be a couple of dollars. It really is a 2 min drive away.

When mine were teenagers they really didn't like Disney, even the downtown bit. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Universal when they were 18 and 15, which I thought was much better for that age group.

Somebody recommended Vista Cay to us www.vistacayholidays.com/ but we have not been ourselves. Some friends of ours had a great time at Cypress Point here

Celebration is lovely but I don't think you'll get a rental there. Years ago we looked at buying a property there and were told that none of them were for short term rental (so we couldn't rent out as holiday home) Think that is still the case so it might have to be the hotel which is nice but will be very expensive. There is a lovely feel to Celebration, we often go there for the evening, have a meal in one of the nice restaurants (there is a fabulous Japanese) and then go for a walk around the lake/shops then to Starbucks.

Some of the 'posher'/expenisve villas such as at Windsor hills have a clubhouse which might provide entertainment for teenagers.

have to agree with timid viper. mine are 10 - 14 asked them if they go back to WDW and they said no it was too young for them but universal was a big thumbs up.

Hi thanks everyone for your help, my head is spinning. Ok, have been offered flights (indirect) for 5 of us, 3 week duration, 2 weeks at Sheraton Vistana, 3rd week I find myself and dodge caravan with full top up, cost £7,300 and no Disnet ticket inc.
Or same flight but for 2 weeks, 14 nights at Fort Wilderness lodge, 14 day park tickets and quick dining plan each, total £8,500
Several other resorts, Embassy Suites etc, coming in at £7000. Seems an awful lot of money to me for a 2 week holiday. Thought please.

It is an awful lot of money however the flights alone are so expensive. We paid around £4,500 last year for 6 of us (and that was going on a cheaper route to Tampa). No idea on accommodation costs in resort but a private villa would be from £450 - £550 per week (but if doing more than 2 weeks you'd negotiate a discount if from a private owner)

We get our car hire via Florida Homes and Travel. Last year we got a large van (8 seater) for just under £400, far cheaper than we'd paid previous years.

5 of us did florida for 3 weeks a lot cheaper than this because we stayed in villas with our teenagers.

OK, have you considered flying to Tampa instead of Orlando? That should cut your cost down a bit. I have just booked four flights over Easter from Heathrow to Tampa (return) for £495 each.

The problem you've got triplets, is that the prices go up nearer the time of departure so the longer you leave it the more expensive it will be.
As I said upthread, BA into Tampa is normally much cheaper than into Orlando but the availability soon goes for easter. Most people book 11 months before as soon as flights are released

I know, sadly we are not in a position to book very far in advance. My dh has cancer (5 years) and is now in remission, so after a mighty struggle we can get him travel ins. His goal has been to take the kids back to Florida.

We booked on the 26th Jan. Travelling from LHR on 22 Mar and coming back on the 5th April.

The 22nd is my birthday!! Ah, school doesn`t break up until the 25th for Easter thats why its such a good price, just wish we could whip them out of school!
