Hi there,
I have my Dnephew this weekend and I'm looking for things to do in the Glasgow/ Clydebank/ Dumbarton/ Balloch area. He's been toddling for a couple for about a month and hads LOADS of energy! He loves getting out and about and driving isn't a problem! Thank you!!!

Lomond Shores is definitely your best bet!

It's at Balloch and has a great outdoor play area, some of which would be fine for a 14 month old. There are also lovely woodland walks. Nice shops and cafes. But the best IMO is "The Ceramic Experience" which is on the mezzanine floor above the shops. It's one of these painting pottery cafes. Lovely food, v friendly staff and a free soft play area. He could do some painting or even just a handprint on a tile too!

how about Heads of Ayr Farm Park? Not too far away- loads to do for toddlers.

We go to Lomond Shores a lot McMudda. Hopefully the weather will be good tomorrow, that always has a bearing on what we do in this part of the world. Does M and D's cater for really small kids? I love the Heads of Ayr farm too. Thanks all.

Any more suggestions...this is going to be a regular set-up so I want to be furnished with as many choices as possible!

Oh actually, I've never been upstairs in Lomond Shores, didn't even know there was a soft play area. Great! Pottery thing sounds good (for me!) Grin

The ceramic place has only been opened a few weeks. I painted a teapot there as my Mother's Day treat Smile. The fair and the road train are up and running now we're past Easter and the aquarium is opening in a couple of months too - can't wait for that!!

Would be a great place for a MN meetup!

What about taking him swimming? Don't know where you are but lots of leisure centres have baby pools and also soft play areas. My nearest one in Bishopbriggs has both- could pass a few hours easily and lots of energy to be burnt off!

Thanks folks, think I'll probably take him to Lomond Shores tomorrow (cheers for that McMudda!) as he loves getting out and about and I think the weather should be good up here. He's not too hard to please actually, just loves running around investigating things! Swimming is also a great idea Sammac, there's the Playdrome in Clydebank and Meadow Centre in Dumbarton I think.

I'll probably be bumping this next week to see if I can glean any more info from you knowledgable mums! Wink

Is the big soft play area in Whitecrook still on the go- can't think of the name of it, but there was go-karting there too. Just off Dumbarton Road, up to the left.
Also the parks- got Dalmuir Park, big one in Dumbarton and Balloch Country Park, lots of space.
