Ryanair - book now or hold out for a 'Summer sale'

I need to book flights for travel in July with Ryanair, but I'm not sure whether to book now or hold out for a special offer covering that period. They are currently offering flights from £15 up until March. Do any regular Ryanair customers know whether they are likely to do any deals for Summer when that's finished?

The flights aren't prohibitively priced just now, but I'm sure we got flights significantly cheaper to the same location previously because we bought during one of their offer periods.

Would be tempted to book summer flights now. Sales tend to only be 2/3 months in advance. If you are flying on a Fri/Sat/Sun would definitely book now as they don't tend to have great offers. I fly every six weeks and have done for past 7 years!

there was a travel industry bloke on R2 this afternoon & he was talking about "buckets" of seats - ie so many at £10, then so many at £20, gradually getting more expensive, so buy them NOW!

but I know what you mean, OP - we once bought seats in the autumn for the following summer & there was definitely a small window (maybe in January?) where the price went down.

not with Ryanair though, can't remember who. are you signed up for the moneysavingexpert weekly emails? those usually flag up the cut price seats. put your email address in \link{http://signup.moneysavingexpert.com/index.php\here} Smile

I did a search back on when we've booked before - once in nov and once in late January and the flights were significantly cheaper than what we've booked, but I think I've always booked during one of their offer periods. The current offer period is for flights up to March and ends this week, but I lost my nerve about waiting till next week in case they do a deal that would suit us.

To add insult to injury, the vastly increased flight price includes half the luggage than last time AND we're flying from Stansted rather than our local area.Angry

On the flip side, we can at least afford a summer holiday, which sadly is more than a lot of people at the moment.

Cheap flights are not as cheap as they used to be!!! Even compared to last summer. The low cost airlines are definitely upping their prices.. esp in school hols!!

Definitely. We're in Scotland so can avoid the English school holidays, but there's a real hike in prices I think. Glad I booked our flights last night - I had a look today and they'd gone up by almost £150!
