Indoor activities - Dorset

We're visiting an elderly relative near Blandford Forum this weekend. With two active boys 2.5 and 6, the idea is that I take them out and about, whilst dh helps out about the house during the days.

Last time we trawled around Monkeyworld in a rainstorm and found an indoor play area near Sturminster Newton. Any great ideas for us this time? Another (large) indoor play area would be great, plus anywhere with some indoor space. We don't mind travelling up to an hour. (The dinosaur museum in Dorchester was much too small for us.)

Many thanks

Weymouth has an indoor play area on the quay part of the diving museum, havent been for years though. Theres the tank museum at Bovington, again havent been for years. There is a wacky warehouse on the seafront in Bournemouth opposite the sealife centre. If the weather is good, farmer palmers near Lytchett maltravers I think is great. As is Moors valley on the otherside of Bournemouth but has to be good weather.

Farmer Palmers is supposed to be good. \link{http://www.farmerpalmer.co.uk\here}

Many thanks Ladies

Is Bournemouth Sealife centre good?

I was just checking the meetup thread and saw a reference to Giggles in Wallisdown - but can't find any details on it.

I just found a reference to Streetwise in Poole too, which sounds good for wet weather. Any experience of the Poole or Bournemouth Streetwise?

Farmer Palmers has a couple of indoor play areas and somewhere covered to eat a picnic (and I suppose it has a cafe too but I can't remember for sure) so if weather is mixed there is plenty of shelter (albeit drafty!). We had a great time there.

Weymouth Play Place is called "Sharky's" - very near the quay but can't remember the address. Anyone will be able to tell you where it is - it is the only rainy day option in Weymouth!! (IME Wink)

Alice in Wonderland by Bournemouth Airport has a new indoor play area which I think is supposed to be good www.adventurewonderland.co.uk/index.html. Agree that Farmer Palmers is good for wet weather. I haven't been to Giggles but my 2.5 year old DS went with my friends and their children recently and he loved it. They did say that it was more for his age rather than older children though. Another option is Gus Gorillas which is an indoor play place in Poole Park.

There is a new indoor soft play centre in Poole dolphin centre (where the shops are) it is called Oilles adventure land.
