We're booked in for June and wondered what it was like. Morningpaper has freaked me out in another thread saying she thought she had been there and it wasn't good Sad.

my aunt went there and really enjoyed it... but that was about 10 years ago!

Thanks - there's not much I can do about it now, it's paid for, but it would be nice to get some positive feedback.

We went there for a long weekend about a month ago and it was fine. Very quiet as it was well out of season but we didn't mind that at all. DS loved the waterslide in the pool (and they've got a wave machine) so he was pretty happy. They've also got a soft play area so on Sunday morning (when it was snowing!!!) we sat down and drank coffee (from the Costa Coffee bar - not the machine - it's rank!) whilst they both played. They've also got a rollerrink there but ours are too small for that - they didn't have boots small enough.

We didn't do any of the entertainment stuff at night - DS didn't want to and (whispers) tbh we're a bit snooty about cabaret. We didn't eat in the restaurant so I don't know what that's like but they had an outdoor playground too which DS liked - just a bit cold at that time of year. I'm sure in June it will be lovely (but probably very busy) still you can always escape as there's loads to do and see in the area (plus lots of ice cream to eat...) We had a really lovely walk up onto the cliffs above Lulworth Cove and could see right over to Durdle Door.

One word of caution - to get to the pool/soft play etc you have to go through a massive games arcade - cue much stamping of feet when we tried to rush DS through. This always makes me a bit mad as they rely on your kids pester power to spend money on trash - and there's no other way into the pool Angry. Don't know how old yours are but if DS was older it could have been a lot nastier!!

Overall we had a lovely weekend but we picked and chose the bits we wanted to use and the stuff we didn't.

Thanks Bronnie. I'm feeling a bit more reassured Grin. My two aren't that fussed about amusement arcades yet so that shouldn't be a problem, I hope. I agree it's a con to get you to part with yet more money.

It sounds like a lovely area to explore.
