Buy your DD a sunsuit-they are light, take up no room, can be washed and dried quickly and she can live in it all day every day! We had one for DS in France last summer and it was great. Didn't need half the clothes we took for him in the end.

Nappies and wipes can be bougt just take enough (and some spare) for the journey.

Are you able to wash things through if needs be?

yummyummy · 30/03/2006 14:32

yes, will have kitchette thingy so will be able to wash stuff....i had wondered about nappies, do you think its defintaly ok to rely on getting them out there? as they will take up most of the room, well the nappies and 3 beach towels will!

I never use beach towels. I buy a cheap straw mat thing, put a thin cheap sarong cloth on it, and have a small scruffy old bathroom towel (hand size) for drying off after swimming etc. The sarong and small towel are easy to wash and dry, and I throw away the mat. Beach towels are so bulky, hard to wash etc.

Don't take huge containers of shampoo / conditioner etc. Put it into small sample size bottles. You need a lot less than you think.

What do you usually take that overloads you, do you think?

Good tip about the towels, I wondered about that, we are staying self-catering and they don't provide bath or beach towels. Not fussed for beach but wondered if I should just take a couple of small guest size towels then buy a couple there.

We are flying with Ryan-air so we have to watch our weight limit.

I have the problem that I really don't know how warm it will be. April just south of Barcelona.

I am going for layers but don't want to be silly and take loads of heavy layers if it will be in the 70's. I am off to cheack the weather site again.

Go naked

Skribble · 31/03/2006 02:49

Not warm enough for me, I will take just a sarong to wrap myself in and make flip flops with my bra.

Skribble - for bath towels - when travelling v light, I have taken a flannel, used that to get most of the water off after a bath, and then just used a small towel a final drying towel. You can get almost dry with a flannel, and in warmer climates you don't need to wrap up in a towel.
