HELP - NO BABY LISTENING ON CLUB MED HOLIDAY!

madhide · 16/03/2006 17:30

I don't know what to do I have just read my confirmation from Club Med and they have wihdrawn their babylistening service from Hammamet and Smir

The reason we booked the holiday was so we could put our dd to bed and go out for a nice meal just the two of us

The only village they can offer us with this service is in Italy but there are no direct flights and I really don't fancy a changeover with a 23 month old

Has anyone else had the same problem?

What is the problem with a changeover?
It'll give the bay a chance to stretch her legs.

I wouldn't trust a baby listening thing full stop.
My sister went to a MW place and reckoned theirs consisits of underpaid teenage staff rembling vaguely between the villas every 30 mins or so.
Shock

Hi Moondog

last 2 years have found the whole plane thing stressful enough that I think it is just the word changeover that worries me

Also the transfer the otherside is 2.5 hours which seems really long

What would you do? Would you put baby to sleep and check on her yourself then?

MH,you're right-travel is stressful with small children anyway.
I do it a lot (dh abroad) and am off to Turkey to him in a few weeks. Am dreading return journey without dh-three flights and a 2 hour drive home with a 5 year old (no probs there) and a 20 mth old.

I so know what you mean about craving a nice peaceful dinner though.
I can handle the children all day (although an hour or two reading in peace in the sun would be nice) but a realxing time with my dh and a bottle of wine is to me the high point.

On our copious travels over the last 5 years,we have either grinned and borne it (tough) or got a babysitter for a few hours.
In Sri Lanka,we usually found a waiter who would keep an eye for us to eat in peace (we paid him of course)

I just wouldn't trust any baby listening thing-would rather pay more and really be able to relax.
