So, I think I am slightly mad wanting to go abroad with two under twos but I am thinking it is all about your frame of mind.

We are wanting to go somewhere warm in October and we have chosen Turkey because of this and also it is not too far to fly and hopefully a bit cheaper than the rest of Europe.

We would like

  • Self catering appartment/villa
  • with pool
  • walking distance to beach and places to eat
  • somewhere quietish - not so keen on big resorts

Anyone know of such a place???????

Olu Deniz, fly to Dalaman. The water in the lagoon is crazily warm, like sitting in a bath! The Turks adore kids, no matter how vile you think your child has been in their restaurant, they will just continue to worship them. Hisaronu is next door to Olu Deniz, is a bit bigger but we liked it.

Oludeniz/Hisaronu are tourist traps. Maybe try Datca? A bit smaller/quieter.

Just got back from Calis, which is on the outskirts of Fethiye, around half hour drive from Olu Deniz. 50Km from Dalaman.
Loved it - quiet and peaceful. No noisy clubs or teenagers.
Beach isn't sandy though - lots of horrid pebbles! and if I were you I'd want sandcastles thrown in too...

October is end of season so most places are pretty quiet. I would suggest somewhere like Bitez on the Bodrum Peninsula, it is a small, quiet resort set all along the beach front. It is all flat, which is good when you have toddlers and is very family friendly.

Bitez is about 50 minutes from the airport so no long transfer.
