Places to stay within 90 mins drive of Boulougne?

Am thinking of going there at May half term just for 2/3 days as we have a cheap ferry ticket. I have been to Bruges, Ghent and Lille before but was thinking of somewhere by the sea or with more toddler stuff to do. Have been to Le Touquet before but was wondering what else is around there.

Any ideas gratefully received.

You can book alot of the gites for Mon-Fri or Fri-Mon as well as Sat-Sat. Even if you are not going to stay for the full rental period they may work out cheaper than other options.

Further south, area round St Valery sur Somme looks pretty (atmospheric marshes, lots of bird life, not that far from border with Normandy and plenty of stuff inland as well). We have that earmarked for next year.
You really need this book, Jane - loads of background information and he has never let us down:

We stayed in the gorgeous Ferme-Auberge la Raterie at Wierre-Effroy just outside Boulogne last year as recommended in that book and had a wonderful time.

General consensus from local resident lummox on another thread was that Hardelot and Wimereux are the pick of the resorts on that coast.
I also like the look of Audreselles, near Ambleteuse, but I think that it's more a fishing village with fabulous fresh fish than a toddler-friendly destination...

thanks for that info everyone. I shall spend my weekend lookign at all that
