If you can afford one of the nearer hotels, definitely worth it to skip the shuttles with a buggy. In the quiet stroll home past the disney lake is a nice quiet and beautiful end to the day
Make use of the extra magic hours (even though that means getting up early)and fast pass system. In the main park with your little one, head for fantasy land first and get that out the way before it gets busy. When mine we're that little they also really loved buzz lightyears intergalactic spin.
Grab a show timetable asap and plan your days round that. Especially with the studios park which is really show heavy. Try and catch the parades in both parks.
Leave time for the studio park in fact . Mine loved Animagique, playhouse disney, and stitch live (you will love this as adults, if you haven't fallen in love with the stitch character you will after this).
The stunt show in the studios is spectacular (love it now has lightening Macqueen in it) but noisy and very cold. It also gets cancelled if it's too cold and icy for the cars so catch it at the first opportunity, don't leave it to the last show of the day only to find that's the one they cancel). 2 fleece blankets make a big difference: one to sit on (metal bench seats)one to cover your lap (good idea for all the shows). to avoid the burning man stunt (spectacular but visually a little scary) either leave after the macqueen sequence or as the man falls off the motorbike hide under the blanket.
(I have a small collection of DLP blankets

Not sure whether yours is a young or old one year old, But if one year old is old enough and you only buy one souvenir make it an autograph book and pen almost as soon as you arrive. It gives the kids something to do when they meet the characters which helps them if they are nervous. write your childs name in the front, very occasionally the characters lot here to write a personal message. If you enjoy the characters try to do one character dining
