Hi we are having a stop over for one afternoon and an evening as we travel through France to our holiday destination. We have DD who is 7. Not been to disney before and just wondered if any of you ladies might be able to recommend a strategy for best possible use of time, what might be best parts of park to vist/avoid. DD is princess mad! Thanks

We have just got back today after spending 5 days there.

The rides in the main disney park were open until 9.45. The parade is at 7. The light parade 10.15 and castle light show 11pm. All a must. Castle light show excellent, especially jungle book part when you could see many adults watching were swing their rears to the music!!

The queues were massive and in one afternoon you would be able to do about 5-6 rides if you are lucky. All the fast passes are usually gone by the afternoon so unless you get there before lunch you may miss out.

The princess pavillion queue was 1 hour and at the end of that you were sent for a 1 minute chat and photo with a princess (you cannot choose which one, it was Ariel when we went). The queue was 1 hour every time we went to see if it had shortened so it is a case of bite the bullet.

Rapunzel is only available between 1-3pm opposite princess pavillion and again a 1 hour queue.

With such a short amount of time then I would get princess pavillion out of the way and if possible send someone to queue up for a ride you want whilst you wait for the princesses that way you can get a little more done.

Most of the children rides are in fantasy land where the princesses are so you will maybe spend time in there. Eating is terrible and very expensive so is drink. Earl of sandwich at far end of disney village great value and filling.

DITDOT thank you so much, I have jotted this down. Its great as having so little time we want to get the most out of our stay. I have to say that me and DH are terrible at fairground rides so poor DD will have to make do with just a couple of rides anyway! I think just being there soaking up the atmosphere and seeing the princesses will be fab for her. We are also vegetarians which will make for interesting times there! Thanks for the tip about eating though, thats good to know.

Take an autograph book. I took my DC when they were a similar age to your DD and they loved meeting the characters and getting their autographs.
I found the food fine, no more expensive than most days out. Not sure if you would have time but booking a character meal is a lovely experience.
