sister and her family are organising a 3 night holiday to eurodisney in summer holidays. have seen some fairly good deals if booking flights and hotel independently. has anyone done this, and how did you purchase your disney hopper passes and transfers from airport to hotel? have enquired about passes from disney store, but they only do 1,2 and 3 day passses. they will need a 4 day one as going for 3 nights. any advice welcome!

also, forget to ask how do you book character breakfasts etc that a travel agent would normally book with your "package"?

You can buy passes at the Disney shop in the UK.

The best place for advice on all things disney are the 'disboards' They are full of disney freaks, but will answer all questions. There is a topic just for disneyland paris. Beware the tickers and smiles and sad sad disney fans :)

I am off tomorrow, but I booked via Airmiles and was able to book charcter breakfasts etc at the same time. I think this seems to be possible only if you book a disney resort hotel. Where is she looking at staying?? If you book disney hotels they include passes, if you book other nearby hotels, they are affiliated with disney and you can book passes through them I think. You can book accommodation only via disney website as I don't think you find many discounts for the actual disney hotels. You can get discounts for the other local ones though and probably booking direct is cheaper.

Has she got tesco club card vouchers? They can be used on Cresta holidays which are a company that go to disney. Just £10 of tesco vouchers = £40 off the holiday. If the family save together and get enough vouchers you could make great savings there.

The summer hols will be horrifically busy tbh, Personally I would look at the sutumn half term when the french kids aren't also on hols, it will be so much cheaper. Also Jan - March they do 'kids go free' specials which really make a difference. We got free eurostar for our kids, and booked using 1000's (7000) airmiles! and paid a pittance. I am so excited we are off Thursday 1st thing :)

Your disney passes can just be bought at the gates of disneyland.

We just got a taxi from the airport to our hotel didn't work out much more than paying the cost of a train or bus and much less hassle. Although you can also do both of these fairly easily, tickets can be bought in the airport.

There is a huge taxi rank outside the airport.

Character breakfasts can be booked in some of the resturants in the disney village, you just have to book the day in advance. You can also book character dinners too.

Have a great time Smile

Aimsmum, they are cheaper bought in the UK before you go. Also on very busy times you may not get teh date/time you want if you leave it until the day beofre.

I had trouble booking for this weekend!!

LIZS · 07/03/2006 20:53

If you stay at a Disney hotel they often include the pass for a day longer ie 3 night stay/4 day pass. Prebook character breakfasts and Buffalo Bill's in advance, you can do it direct.

Where can you book the disney character meals? Have looked on DLP website but although it gives you details about them I can't see anywhere to book them? Have booked hotel/flights myself so don't have tour operator to ask. Thanks

Polgara2 · 07/03/2006 21:33

Oh and how much was the taxi please Aimsmum?

crunchie · 07/03/2006 22:09

polgara, I found a great website for booking meals, they give reviews of all the restuarants and menus etc.

They have all the numbers to call, I had to call france but it was sorted easily.

Have a good time Crunchie. Btw it is usually really freezing in February (Paris gets winds from Siberia), so if it is not too late - pack warmly!!!

handlemecarefully · 07/03/2006 22:14

Re places to eat - I'd vouch for Walt's Diner...

crunchie · 07/03/2006 22:16

HMC it is MARCH!!

I have planned anoraks and fleeces, hats and gloves.

We are going to Inventions for a posh night out :)

handlemecarefully · 07/03/2006 22:17

Oh yeah, March! lol, but only just. It'll still be cold though...but should be nice and quiet and not too long queues for rides....

handlemecarefully · 07/03/2006 22:18

Inventions is lovely.

We stayed at Disneylandhotel and ate their a few times. Pricey but very good.

alibo · 08/03/2006 13:39

thanks for replies ladies! have enquired at disney store about passes, but they only go up to 3 day apparently from there. they need a 4 day pass. would also be interested in taxi costs, and alternative transfers.

alibo go onto \link{http://www.disboards.com\disboards} and scroll down for Disneyland Paris. That is where you will fine teh real experts on all things Disney, they can tell you everything you wanted to know and more you didn't :)

granarybeck · 08/03/2006 13:45

We found that an annual family pass was cheaaper than a three day pass for us. And you got really good discuonts on all restaurants and shops and five 'fastpass' tickets each. You can buy them when you get there, takes about half an hour ta have pics taken etc, but quite exciting for the kids and worth it just for the discounts, think was about 20% off shops.

alibo · 08/03/2006 19:09

how much is an annual passport??

granarybeck · 08/03/2006 19:29

can't remember exactly, think was about two pounds cheaper than the 3-day pass, is that about @65? there are a few dates you an't go on, french bank hols i think, but theydidn't seem to coincide with british school hols and weren't many of them. seems too good to be true, but is for some reason! we went in half term in october, but think we might just call in on way to south of france as won't cost much, will need a hotel anyway. Though some may think i must be insane to go twice, kids just loved it so much!
