Longshot - anyone know the name of this hotel in London?

You go over the Thames and the entrance to Hampton Court is on your right and on your left on the side of the road is a big old hotel. Any ideas of it's name?

Also I need the web address for Hampton Court, I keep googling it and all I get is tickets and hotels.

TIA

SleepySuzy · 04/03/2006 17:31

Was it right then?

SecondhandRose · 04/03/2006 19:02

Yes SS, many thanks but unfortunately too expensive. We'll have to go to HC in a day rather than staying over.

It's way away but we stayed at the Conrad Hiltopn in Chelsea recently (on Hilton points!) but rooms were only £155/night that weekend. And it's all-suite. PITA for public transport though

DelGirl · 04/03/2006 22:39

iirc you can actually stay at Hampton Court. You never know, it may be cheaper!

SecondhandRose · 04/03/2006 23:39

Will investigate, thanks, we are really only about 70-90 minutes drive away but just thought it would make a nice weekend away but we could go abroad for that - typical British prices unfortunately.

The Richmond Gate and Richmond Hill hotels are Corus and they sometimes have special offers on (if that helps)

\link{http://www.corushotels.com/hotel.asp?hotelID=5\this is the Richmond Hill hotel} and you can click on the 'special offers' tab top right to check

There's a hotel in Surbiton/Kingston (not that far) where a friend of mine used to stay in London. I think it's called The Antoinette. It was about £70 a night.

You could try \link{http://www.paddocklodge.co.uk\this} place in Hampton Court (we haven't managed to stay there yet, though it's top of my wishlist!).

We use mostly B&B listings from \link{http://www.specialplacestostay.co.uk/search/index.html\Alistair Sawday} as a cheaper alternative to hotels - bar one bad experience (on our honeymoon, sadly) we've found them to be much better. Stayed at Doughty Cottage on Richmond Hill a couple of weeks ago, & it was lovely.
