Anyone been? Dd is just 6 and would be thrilled to go - gps are coming over in August from the States and I thought it would be good for them to go together. She's only read the first 2 books - we read them to her. She's not seen the films yet, but we would show her the first one before the trip. Will it spoil too much of the later books for her?

I can only get late aftenoon/evening tickets on the days we can go - not sure what we'd do about dinner! it says that the tour is three hours, and we'd want to make sure we got our money's worth!

Any opinions or tips?

There are a couple of threads on page 2 of this board, which should be a help.

Quick tip from us :) we got there early planning to have a picnic there, but as we drove past it was clear there wasn't a picnic spot outside the studios. Just a bit of grass alongside the car park. However, we spotted signs for leavesden country park which turned out to be about 2 mins drive away and we found a lovely spot for a picnic.

Oops, just found these replies - sorry, I didn't check back after not getting any replies initially. Glad to hear you both liked it and thanks for picnic tip. Will check for other threads. I had searched it, but I mustn't have put the right thing in the search.

We've been today and loved it!

Thanks Ohyoubadbadkitten for the tip on Leavendsen Country Park, kids loved the playground there and we had a picnic beforehand.

As you come in there is a costa and lots of seating, so guessing usual costa fare which could be OK for a light tea, not sure whether it stays open later than the tour itself.

But the cafe mid-way was pretty light on, few snacks and some sandwiches, but not much in way of variety by 2pm when we were passing through - either limited range or sold out, not sure.

We took 3.5hrs with the audio tour - and we chose not to queue for 45mins to get a photo on a broomstick for £12. You can dress as a wizard for a picture in the gift shop - we did this and I took a photo against the plain green screen (there wasn't a sign, but after I took it I was told photography not allowed, oops).
