Cot mattresses in holiday homes

I'm looking for opinions please! I run holiday cottages and have a lot of families with young children who stay here. I supply 2 wooden cots and also have 5 travel cots which I also supply additional cot mattresses for, plus mattress protectors and base sheets (guests prefer to bring their own sleeping bags).
I know there was some research done around 10 years ago which stated that second hand cot mattresses were a possible factor in cot death although no-one staying here has ever complained and I can't imagine anyone having room in the car to bring their own cot mattresses from home.
Are cot mattresses in hotels/rented holiday accommodation seen as OK by most people?
Thanks!

I never thought about this on our first trip when DD was 9 month and sleeping in the cot which was in the house we rented.

I think that provided the mattress is clean and not too old it would be fine. I suggest that you have a mattress cover to protect the mattress that can easily be washed at regular intevals.

There is a balance of risk. Even if your guests did bring their own cot matress it might not fit the cot.
