Eurodisney - is it worth doing it in style

Am planning 3 days at Eurodisney, kids never been before - age 6 and 4- cant decide whether to go for it or not and stay at the Disneyland Hotel and go first class on Eurostar. Had a quote of £1,986 for everything inc passes. Would be lovely but is it worth it. Also if you travel economy on Eurostar can you buy food and drink whilst travelling or is it only in first class where you can get food/drink?

It is a deluxe amazing hotel (i couldnt afford to stay there!) we went to Newport Bay. But it is right on the doorstep/gates. If you can afford it and want to do it in style then go for it.

Personally I wouldn't but I can't afford it!! We stayed in the Newport which was a lovely hotel. My friend has stayed in the Disneyland hotel (Dec 04) and then this Xmas (dec 05) she stayed in the New York and said the bedrooms were exactly the same size with the same facilities - only change was the decor. Said the Disney hotel was no better than New york. ANother frined has said the same wbout the New york compoared to the Newport. Apparently some of the extra cost is for location - pay more to be nearer the park. We quite enjoyed the walk back to the Newport and there is a wee train/bus thing that takes you round the lake - kids loved it!

From waht friends have said it is worth upgrading on Eurostar when you've got kids. So whyanot upgrade on that and stay at the Newport/New York? We've always driving to stock up on duty free so can't advise on the train from personal experience.

When you're there you'll probably find you;re only in the hotel for sleeping and breakfast anyway!

Hi got upgraded to the disneyland hotel last year from the New York,Grin (new york over booked) not as wonderful as i thought it might be just a bit more snotty. Needed a cot for my youngest they gave me a broken travel cot, and said they didn't have another one.Angry You would think they would provide a propper cot with all the kids that must stay there. The only plus side was being so close to the park. If they offered me an upgrade again I would say no, i prefer the New York.

We are going in a weeks time (to Sequoia Lodge) I would look at first class Eurostar but not for the hotel. Why not try to get a suite in the less posh hotels?

I think £2k is our entire budget for approx 2 yrs of holidays, we prefer a bargain.

Went in Dec last year for DDs 3rd birthday and travelled 1st class on Eurostar as we were given a free upgrade - might be worth checking as this seems to be offered quite often.

We booked the Disneyland Hotel but the travel service messed up the booking as we asked for a room on the castle club floor which was then not available at the last minute and we ended up at the New York instead. (Castle Club floor has seperate entrance and breakfast area with characters). NY was a good hotel, large airy rooms etc. but we thought the Disneyland looked nicer and more child orientated - it is in a great location too, right over the main entrance gates overloooking the park and sleeping beauty's castle etc. NY is used for a lot of business conferences.

I would go for it if you have the budget.
